I have more keys than I have drills, so I am on the plus side!I am at one key, for my garage sale drill. The replacement key works well enough, but it doesn't fit in the key clip on the cord.
You need to tape the drill chuck key to the cord, Sparker.I am at one key, for my garage sale drill. The replacement key works well enough, but it doesn't fit in the key clip on the cord.
I just keep one on my keychain.I am at one key, for my garage sale drill. The replacement key works well enough, but it doesn't fit in the key clip on the cord.

Now I didn't think of this, I was taught it:Exactly the opposite… I don’t know why they keep running away
Have you ever had tape hold for long periods of time, the only thing tape is good for is leaving sticky residue where the tape used to be. Something will knock the key and tape off eventually and hopefully you'll hear it hit a solid floor, but if it's lost in the outdoors like in the grass or dirt, good luck. Now I didn't think of this, I was taught it:
Electrical tape the chuck key to the cord first thing. About 1 foot from the plug.
Ya tape the handle part tight and leave the key part sticking out.
My portables have rubber key keepers as well, but they have a tendency to get loose while I'm using the drill, so I taped them as well.LOL....Too many, I finally put the one to my drill press on a length of paracord.
My other corded power tools have the little rubber key keeper on them.
That's great if you only have one drill motor or one size chuck. LOLI just keep one on my keychain.
It helps me lose my keys more often.
FYI: They make 4-way chuck keys. That's great if you only have one drill motor or one size chuck. LOL
However many drills I have had in my life plus however many drills my dad had during my life is probably the best number I can give you LOL. I did have a drill with it impossibly to remove mounted to the cord, but a nephew swiped it and pawned it. Now I just use cordless drills where hand tight is usually good enough.I am at one key, for my garage sale drill. The replacement key works well enough, but it doesn't fit in the key clip on the cord.
How do you keep that on your keychain?FYI: They make 4-way chuck keys.
Just a regular D-clip.How do you keep that on your keychain?
