there is only one continent in America and Europe Asia and Africa are all on continent. they are connected by land no separation between them in the case of Europe and Asia it is beyond stupid to list them as 2 distinct continents.

Well take it up with the experts here's why they are considered two different continents.
Geologically, the continents are defined by tectonic plates, and North America and South America are situated on separate tectonic plates. Geographically, they are separated by the Panama Canal, which was created by human intervention but serves as a natural barrier.
