You are obligated with or without a selective service card. You are also obligated to buy you're own Military style rifle in common use.

The military will not go against the citizens and not only that, contrary to popular belief, neither will the cops. I've been a long time member on a cop forum and the question does come up. Most are progun/2nd and believe their obligation is to the Constitution.

But that scenario won't play out. If we ever lose guns it will happen like it's happened elsewhere, through increasingly tough legislation. They will make you register your firearms, then permit them, then deny the permits. You turn them in or you're an outlaw. But the tide isn't going that way here but we must remain vigilant because the left will do it as soon as they can.

I bought my AR when I thought Shrillary was possibly going to win. I think all Billy got was a temporary magazine size reduction, but I already had my 17 round Glock mags. The value of those skyrocketed too though so thanks Bill! As it turns out obama won and guns flew off the shelves so the gun industry was cooking when everyone else was struggling.

Fortunately, America didn't bend over for the socialist and we still got our guns. If obama couldn't get them, no one can.
