What motivates someone to be a serial killer?

I always enjoyed reading about crime and serial killers, my wife thinks I am creepy that I always watch true stories of murders. I just found it fascinating what compels someone to become a serial killer.

Ted Bundy said it was a sex addiction. He got exposed to porn at a young age and he said his sex addiction lead him to kill women. He was a sadist. The problem I have with that reasoning is many men get sex addictions at a very young age, including myself, and never develop any desires to do harm to any women in the least. If anything it just gives a strong desire to have many girlfriends, wives, lovers in your lifetime and do a whole lot of humping. I am in my 2nd marriage and had many girlfriends in my past and dates. What would motivate him to want to kill whoever he screwed? It never made a whole lot of sense to me honestly. Wouldn't you want that person alive so you could repeatedly have sex with them and maybe a relationship... I don't know I never understood it.

Did a women wrong him when he was young and he developed a deep hatred for women? Why would hate the woman you were making love to? I don't know I just never understood it. I probably been a sex addict since like I was 10 and all it did was compel me to get married twice, have lots of girlfriends, and many dates... why did it compel Bundy to kill what like 72 women? I just never got that at all?

Tell the American people that candidate X is Hitler 24/7 via the media and political elites.

That seems to be one way to compel the crazies to kill.

I think it goes back to how you were at a young age, given the ability to reason between good and evil. A good person will go out of their way to not harm anyone in their attempt to get in heaven.

#3) Sociopaths are incapable of feeling shame, guilt or remorse. Their brains simply lack the circuitry to process such emotions. This allows them to betray people, threaten people or harm people without giving it a second thought. They pursue any action that serves their own self interest even if it seriously harms others. This is why you will find many very "successful" sociopaths in high levels of government, in any nation.

A bad person will do everything in their ability to get to hell, because many of them, do not think that there is an eternal damnation. When you think that way, anything EVIL is on the table.

In the end even the sick Ted Kennedy, asked for forgiveness for murdering Mary Jo.

Who is Ted Bundy? - mileswmathis.com

Bundy's alleged killing spree started just five years later, we should ask if this series of events was manufactured as well, and if so, for what reason. If you haven't read my 83-page PDF on the Tate “murders,” you are in no position to read further here. You will find my line of reasoning bizarre. …

It's something unique to the American condition, this is the land of serial killers. Go back to the early 80's when evidence was not at the scientific level it is today, and the West Coast was full of serial killers.

Porn has absolutely nothing to doing with it. Bundy said all kinds of stupid shit, even once leading investigators to Washington in a search for another serial killer before the police realized he didn't know what he was talking about.

Being a nation of many races increases the likelihood, in my opinion, of being a serial killer, as you don't sympathize as much with those you target.

It's my understanding that most, if not all, serial killers were sexually abused as children. Obviously this isn't a sufficient condition but it's so common it's almost a necessary condition.

True I have thought of those ideas as well... but I have known many atheists who were morally and ethically very good people. I also have met many Christians who were felons.

I never really bought into the concept of "Sociopath". I think someone can have deep feelings for others and still be capable of committing horrific crimes like serial murders. I will go as far to as to say I think someone could have empathy for others and still be capable of committing very horrific crimes against others. I think it is a huge myth that only the unfeeling who have no feelings for others are the only ones capable of committing such horrific crimes. I always thought of "Sociopath" as just a myth and an easy excuse to explain why someone would act so cruelly toward others.... they had to be born somehow inhuman in some way to do that crime.... I don't agree with that. I think many people have personality traits associated with a sociopath, I even do from time to time and so do many people I know... but I wouldn't actually call them sociopaths. I think many people including myself have from time to time exhibited behaviors that could be attributed to anti-social behavior, but I don't think it is anything to be alarmed about unless the behaviors were to an extreme and excessive amount. I think most people can from time to time exhibit some behaviors that could be classified as anti-social behaviors. If these personality traits were so extreme and happened all the time, then I would say that would be a huge problem and a red flag that a person has some serious mental issues going on.

As far as the idea of it all being a conspiracy and Bundy didn't do any of this, I don't buy that theory either. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the murders he never actually committed; they were just attributed to him because it would be so much easier finding the killers to those murders that way by just saying he did it. I also wouldn't be surprised if Bundy took the blame for some murders he didn't' actually commit just so he could rack up to his name a higher killer count for bragging rights.

The Tedy Bundy story has always intrigued me every since I was a very young boy as well as other serial killers. I always was intrigued by many of the other stories of serial killers like Gacy and the Green River Killer. I also love watching the TV Series "The Forensic Files". Bundy once told police to catch the Green River killer they had to teach themselves to think like a serial killer... that is something I don't think I would ever be able to do and I am sure cops found it challenging as well.

But most sexually abused children who go onto abuse others, killing them is less common.

After having spoken with more than one serial killer, I have a considered and educated opinion. None that spoke to were abused as children. They killed because they liked it. Even killers who killed for a sexual thrill eventually abandoned, wholly or completely, the sexual aspect to move on to the main event. They liked to watch their victims die. As one killer put it "to see the light go out of their eyes.

Some killers torture their victims because of the feeling of power it gives them. They want the screaming and begging. It excites them. When incarcerated, they live the last moments of their victims over and over as a form of sexual excitement. It is their mastubatory fantasy. They. will fantasize about killing famous people or even someone they've seen.

They cannot be fixed. They cannot be rehabilitated. There is no cure. They will be a danger to ever living thing unfortunate enough to come in contact with them. The best thing is to put them down as quickly as possible.

Your fortunate that you had the opportunity to actually speak to one in person. That is something I always wanted to do, but I never got that opportunity and I feared what people may think of me if they learned I was interviewing/visiting a serial killer. Just the opportunity to get their perspective live in person. It is one thing to watch the movies and read the books, it is another to actually hear what the person has to say in person. I also was intrigued by the "ICE MAN" and what it was like to be a contract killer from the mob, hearing something like the actual account from the person live in prison.

I think many of us take excitement in watching someone die and beg for their life only one condition....that it is make believe and not real; people are just acting on the screen. The obsession with slasher/killer films like "Silence of the Lambs", "Scream", "Terrifier", "Halloween", "Friday the 13th", "SAW", "Nightmare of Elm Street", "Torso", "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre", "Psycho".

All I'll say is, don't talk to the neighbor's dog...

Actually more than one. William Bonin, the Freeway Killer, Lawrence Bittaker and Roy Norris, the Tool Box Killers and I went with writer Mary Neiswender while she interviewed Charles Manson. There were several others but these are the best known. As the last living member of the defense firm, I saw Bonin's execution.

The only reason you take excitement in slasher movies is because they are fake.

These kinds of killers should be put to death immediately after trial. The bailiff can take it out to the parking lot and end the public misery right after the sentence is given.

If you are interested, Vonda Pelto was the psychologist assigned to death row and has written several books on the subject.

I always was interested in the Manson case. I always wondered if all the LSD made him that way. If someone took too much LSD too many times would it make him into a murder? I He always talked gibberish and seemed Schizo. He would be talking like he wasn't even on the planet earth sometimes.

I have also wondered how some killers are able to get life in prison while others the death penalty. I guess depends on the state you live.

If someone lived in one state that had the death penalty, but actually committed all his murders in a state that did not have the death penalty then would he be off the hook for the death penalty? Someone is charged for murder in the state he commits the crime not the state he lives right? So if he committed all his murders in a state that didn't have the death penalty by driving over state lines then he should be off the hook for the death penalty since the crimes were committed in a state that abolished it? Or would be given the death penalty because he lives in a state that does have the death penalty, even though he committed his crimes out of state?

I just do a lot of brainstorming in my head sometimes thinking about killers who traveled from state to state like Bundy do killing in several states and how that all works out.

Bleeding Heart liberal compassion is what saves the murderer, while they(the Democrats) want babies born and unborn murdered on the abortion doctors table.

#10) Sociopaths are delusional and literally believe that what they say becomes truth merely because they say it! Charles Manson, the sociopathic murderer, is famous for saying, "I've never killed anyone! I don't need to kill anyone! I THINK it! I have it HERE! (Pointing to his temple.) I don't need to live in this physical realm..."

Something that you might not of heard about yet.

Presidential hopeful Beto O’Rourke used to fantasize about killing young children by mowing them down in his car, according to newly unearthed essays. While a teenager, O’Rourke belonged to a group of U.S. hackers known as ‘Cult of the Dead Cow’ (CDC).

I don't know whether it was drugs or not but Manson was certainly insane. His greatest regret was that he didn't kill more people.

It starts with being a sociopath or a psychopath.

A sociopath is like that dog who is whipped as a puppy and becomes vicious. A psychopath is born that way. In either case, they show absolutely no empathy for others.*

*, and no, I am NOT accusing our site democrats of being serial killers.
