The Holy Spirit is a force and has no body.
Yet Jesus spoke of the Holy Spirit as a person, like him, a man, who would be sent by God in the distant future.
"If I do not go your Advocate won't come whereas if I go I'll send him to you. When he comes, he will confute the world and show where wrong and right and judgment lie. He will convict them of wrong, by their refusal to believe in me; he will convince them that right is on my side, by showing that I go to the Father when I pass from your sight; and he will convince them of Divine judgment, by showing that the prince of this world stands condemned.
There is still much I could tell you but the burden would be too great for you now..
However when he comes, who IS the Spirit of truth, he will guide you into all the truth for he will not speak on his own authority but will only tell you what he hears, and make known to you the things that are coming. He will glorify me for everything he makes known to you he will draw from what is mine. All the Father has is mine, and thats why I said, "Everything he makes known to you he will draw from what is mine." John 16:7-15
The truth is Jewish people haven't been convinced that Jesus was right about anything so whatever you think is the Holy Spirit, a mighty wind that appeared at pentecost, was not what Jesus was talking about. If it was then when do you think this ghost is going to get around to doing what Jesus said he would be sent by God to do? Its been 2000 years and
your ghost hasn't done one single thing that Jesus said he would be sent by God to do.
How do you resolve this? Where is he now? On vacation? Sleeping? Hiding? Playing tiddlywinks with the pope?
Boo.
