How do I take myself off of a DM chain?

Btw, we need more fun threads on here. It's just been relaxing and fun posting and listening to Michael Jackson music without getting into heated debates with people every few seconds. I should do threads like that more often on here.

I was once on a forum whose moderators really sucked. I was constantly getting PM's from them criticizing this or that, which were clearly motivated by my views, not by my behavior.

So seeing that red "1" by my DM icon here is very annoying. It reminded me when I felt forced to read their snivelling, or risk being booted for ignoring them.

I have gotten only one negative feedback from the mods here, and it was fair(ish) so I should get over that I guess.

I don't mind an occasional DM, and if I had known about the "Leave" button, it would not have been a problem.

I have never gotten a DM that I am aware of and I don't see the box to the top right that Aye Can't see says is there.

Where is a DM? I know it means direct message. that is all. embarrassing enough over what I don't use.
I don't want to work hard. I just want to live. I don't want to enter a password of phone number to "get out of bed" but it seems that is coming soon.

I wish I'd known this about three years ago when I just blocked all DM's because of the stalkers. Now, I don't remember how to unblock all DM's.

Well you have to be aware that most MAGA folks are here to drive traffic to specific websites. They know how gullible and desperate you guys are so yo’ll fall for anything. No sure how to get off the e-mail chain but in the future, practice a little independence of thought.

All respect to the concern troll that started it and to those who have fallen for the act. I just don't want to keep seeing that I have a DM and it turns out to be a multi-way political discussion thread started in DM's.

At this point, I automatically remove myself from the chain the moment I'm sucked in. When you enter the DM, there's a "leave" button about 3/4s of the way to the upper right. I wish I could produce a screen shot but I've already removed myself.
