Or perhaps one based on the scientific method and experience. The first procedure of the scientific method is to observe and ask questions. There have been people who relate experiences of physical protection, emotional protection--and life altering experiences. In the Bible, it appears the primary duty of angels is to deliver messages. Moreover, it is God who commands them in every situation. We see this taking place in the life of Jesus who noted that it was God who could send a legion of angels to protect him, indicating God had a different plan.

This leads to the real question: Why doesn't God wrap each one of us in cotton batting, commanding his angels to protect all of us at all times from all dangers--physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual? My answer is, Let's give thanks that God, our Father, is no helicopter parent.

there are paintings to show how guardian angels protect children.
but they are not always successful ...

Looking at the literature, we can see the way guardian angels work, as well as the fact that they have to earn their wings.

It's so simple to understand for anyone who has experienced a miracle. I have, and I know at least two people who have -- who should have died or experienced grave injury, but didn't

That's all I need to know.

I feel sorry for those who can't begin to feel faith, and I pray for them every day.

Maybe they were, and just didn’t comprehend? Also, it’s not like they’re piloting the plane either.
