I wish they'd post an agent in the convenience store I work in. People come in there to buy liquor and cigarettes, and the only ID they can produce is a foreign voter registration card or a foreign consular ID card. I know damned well they're illegal because they don't have a valid US ID.

Except for one thing: A Mexican, El Salvadorean, Nicaraguan, or any other foreign-issued consular ID card is not recognized in the state of Wisconsin as being a valid ID for the purchase of alcohol or tobacco products, since they can't be verified. Many retailers are either unaware of this, or they just turn a blind eye toward it. Since making the sale or refusing it is up to my discretion as an employee of an establishment that sells alcohol and tobacco products, I tend to refuse the sale unless they can come up with a better form of identification. Or at least give them shit about it and tell them they need to get a US state or federal-issued ID.
