"How Are We Going to Afford This?" U.S. Companies Face Tariff Reality - China or Higher Costs and Poor Quality when "Made in America"

As long as the ignorant orange buffoon in the White House thinks that tariffs are paid by the sending country, like it's some kind of tax on THEM, American businesses and American consumers just have to bend over and take it.

I know he has surrounded himself with obedient supplicants, but does NO ONE have either the knowledge or the balls to set him straight?

That’s really long with his Pinocchio nose

It comes at a price...
When you import from China you also import their standard of living.

Ask MACAFLOOZY the DOOZY this-------------->who actually sends the check to pay the tariffs-) I will tell you........it is NOT the governments, it is the company's/corporations. What, do you think that Japan charges us 5000 per car or more, and the United States government cuts them a check for all imported American autos? Of course not!

And so, the point is------------->IF our products are junk like a specific poster on here claims, then why do they have barriers against them? Think about that!

People like Der Berg, and the charming and delightful MACAFLOOZY, are just spinning you, lol. Your corporations can NOT compete..........even if they can on a level playing field, because of the tariffs those countries impose upon us. So what do they do? They move manufacturing there if they want to get a market share. Meanwhile, back at the USA ranch, all the UAW union autoworkers start losing jobs. 1/2 of it is because of automation, the other 1/2 of them get cut because they can sell to us, but we can not sell to them without a huge surcharge. AND, the jobs also move to MEEEEEHHHHHHIIIIICO, because their labor is cheaper, and their enviro nonsense is no where near ours.

Ask all of these LEFTIST posters, including the SUPPOSED wim.......errr I mean wolf of Wall Street, his majesty oh-MACAFLOOZY, if a country can survive by being just a total consumer nation? Can it defend itself if makes no steel, aluminum, or the new rare earth minerals the next economic wave is going to demand. Can it survive without going into AI, and to support the research, we need almost DOUBLE of the electricity capacity we currently have............which means their wind and solar is going to leave us screwed!

THE ANSWER IS----------> No we can NOT! And these Leftists from Floozy through Der Berghof, Dragonchick, IM2LOONY, Curriedgoatmeat and the rest, are either to stupid/ignorant/incompetent to know, or do know, but do not give a damn!

Look, DJT is NOT the be all, end all. He is arrogant, and a lot of times, a PITA! But just look what the Democrats offered us, and still offer us to this day! We are the modern day Rome, and while our country was on fire, Biden was fiddling, or pooping, or using auto pen; or possibly all 3 and then some. They won't even look into waste in the government, and STILL support illegal aliens.

We did NOT give the USA DJT, the Democrats did by turning off sooooooooo many independents, Black voters, Hispanic legal citizens, Jews, and Asians. Do NOT let them even try and convince you, of anything different!

Americans stopped making cheap products long ago. This when it became even cheaper to make the products overseas. People can blame policy all they want, but Americans demand and love "cheap."

This is about policy. The policies of tariffs, but of much more. Policies of the past may have made it easier for small businesses and others to have products assembled and made overseas, and then shipped back to America for sales. I'm sure somewhere it all the policy stuff are tax incentives and tax breaks, and other GOVERNMENT SUBSIDIES to keep PRIVATE BUSINESSES going on the cheap with bigger, better profits.

My Headline: Trump Tariffs Expose Reality of Higher Costs, Poor Quality of "Made in America" - Small Businesses know that equals products being more expensive with inferior quality.

"How Are We Going to Afford This?" U.S. Companies Face Tariff Reality - Higher Costs and Poor Quality when "Made in America"

Business owners told The Times that President Trump’s tariffs could lead to higher costs and expressed frustration at the sudden uncertainty about policy.

The New York Times has heard from nearly 100 companies that import from China about how the president’s tariffs were affecting them. They are a cross-section of striving enterprises stitched into the global economy: companies that make greeting cards, board games, outdoor footwear, hangers, digital picture frames, coffee equipment, toys, stained-glass windows and custom electronics.

Several themes emerged. American businesses, not Chinese suppliers, were shouldering the cost of tariffs. Many companies said they would have to raise prices to offset the expense if they had not already. Some spoke of a feeling of business paralysis: They were afraid to make plans amid the unpredictable stream of new tariffs, fearing the risk of moving production out of China since no country seemed immune.

Turning to domestic alternatives was usually not viable because they were more expensive, the quality was inferior and there were fewer options. Finally, completely reinventing their supply chain would be a huge undertaking for the companies, requiring time and expense they cannot easily spare.

From her home in Phoenix, Erica Campbell is waiting for a cargo vessel from China to deliver a shipment of thousands of Jesus rattle dolls, tin Easter eggs, religious-themed baby swaddle blankets and 15,000 packages of Jesus Heals bandages.

Ms. Campbell, 36, the owner of Be a Heart, a Catholic goods business, paid the Chinese factories that manufacture the items months ago. The boxes were loaded in a container before President Trump imposed a new 10 percent tariff on all Chinese imports on Feb. 1. She said she probably avoided paying an additional duty as a result, but she was worried there would be more U.S. tariffs to come.

“I can’t figure out what is going to happen,” Ms. Campbell said. “I am on high alert.”
All bull chit... You used every manipulative leftist narrative or talking point known to (lefty man) in hopes to keep the cheap supply chain pumping for your mega shareholders interest, and this so it can continue to thrive unabated without accountability for what it has done to America, the American consumer, and the American worker.

As do most of the tech bosses and business tycoons who backed Trump and PROJECT 2025

But the hoi polloi must Stand with Trump

What is Project 2025? Something Trump kept insisting he didn't know about and didn't believe in.

Project 2025 is a federal policy agenda and blueprint for a radical restructuring of the executive branch authored and published by former Trump administration officials in partnership with The Heritage Foundation, a longstanding conservative think tank that opposes abortion and reproductive rights, LGBTQ rights, immigrants’ rights, and racial equity. Project 2025’s largest publication, “Mandate For Leadership,” is a 900-page manual for reorganizing the entire federal government agency by agency to serve a conservative agenda.

such patriotism .. leader over the people
Elections have consequences boy.

What was fit for the left has been made ripe for the right, so quit your crying and find out what you knuckleheads did wrong, and well stop doing that.

What you idiots are trying to hide is the fact that in Trump's first term he imposed a lot of tariffs and prices actually went down, not up.

Yeah and that's when Covid was conveniently let loose from a lab out of China. Can those dots ever be connected ? How much of a coincidence was it that Trump was in the heat of implementing a fair trade policy based upon rightly correcting the tariff situation between us and the world, and BAM here comes Covid out of no where. Then we hear that the virus started in a wet market, when later it was finally revealed that it was released from a lab leak from the Wuhan lab.

I trust nothing anymore.

Sad stuff.

One of the funniest things about the pandemic that no one seems to ever want to talk about is the fact that Trump was blamed for the spread of Covid while democrats' later claimed that the vaccine (Trump's Operation Warp Speed vaccine) is what saved the planet. But, it was Trump who was blamed for the spread of the pandemic, even though with more knowledge that Biden had, more died under Biden than Trump. I guess that's two things.

Just blows holes in the leftist orange man bad narrative, otherwise in which they put into play after Trump became what they envisioned to be a future threat to their leftist radical agenda.

Most of the events and rhetoric is so readable that a kindergartener can understand what was going on with the left and it's agendas.

Hell it's still going on.

Trade deficits are worrisome. Taxing corporations through tariffs isn't any solution. I would have more hope if it was attacked through the country investing in clean, cheap energy and other benefits for the corporate infrastructure. Let's get back to when the government invested in projects that are beneficial to our industries and citizens alike. Something that changed the game as did the TVA and Hoover dam.

These tariffs and the corporate tax increase nonsense Kamala Harris was touting in her election campaign are burdens our industries don't need around their necks.

How is it that tariffs designed to level the playing fields are a unfair tax on American companies that choose off shoring as their preferences to do business in such a way ?

Like Trump said, hey if you build it in America then you are exempt from paying the tariffs, but if you are outside the country, and you are using cheap labor and cheap raw materials to build your products overseas, and it's all in order to have unfair advantages against the local American competition back home, then you will soon find that it doesn't work out so well under this new government when one chooses to off shore for the purpose of making mega profits at this nation's expense and detriment. Off shoring in turn kills the American on shore competitors, and therefore it drives down the quality of American on shore products because they are just trying to keep up and compete, and also it's driving down wages of American worker's who made this country great and made it the apple of the worlds eye.

Trump said more than that. He said all tariffs will be reciprocal. So far Americans are the only ones paying the tariffs. Trump has put a penny for penny tariff on foreign goods. If these countries don't like the tariff they can stop charging one.

These countries ? What about our own business people who are operating in these countries using cheap slave like labor and inferior raw materials to build American labeled products, and then ship them back here so they can fool us with that label, and charge us price's as if the product was manufactured here, and make us think that the quality is still American tuff, long lasting, and built by Joe Donor from Minnesota ?

Would you not say that they truly are the one's that hate Trump and what he's doing to their honey pots in which they've exploited to their wildest benefits, and all the while they've watched as American power and generational wealth evaporated faster than a pot of water sitting in the sum on a 105° degree day.
