How about another Mandate? (A solutions thread)

Maybe we should put Gaza and Areas A, B and parts of C under another Mandate, or two? Since the Arab Palestinians don't seem to be capable of developing independence on their own, despite decades of financial and political assistance, perhaps it would be best if they had a tutor?

The Mandatory power could make an agreement (peace treaty) with Israel regarding mutual security and borders (a relatively simple process) and then actually occupy the territories (yes, in the real sense of the word and not the fake drivel) while working directly with the Palestinian people to develop their Statehood.

One would hope that once the "Jewish problem" is removed, a fair number of Palestinians would prefer peace and prosperity over continued low-level conflict and would co-operate if the carrot was realistically presented.

While it would be easy to respond that this removes Palestinian agency, please note I am suggesting that the Palestinians who wish to have independence, a State and peace with Israel should be assisted by being given the time and space to act upon that agency, while the terrorist groups are subdued.

Another fake "solutions" thread from you?

The solution is simple AND HAS BEEN EXPLAINED TO YOU MULTIPLE TIMES. THE EUROPEAN JEWS WHO REFUSE TO OR SIMPLY CANNOT LIVE IN PEACE WITH THE INDIGENOUS PEOPLE OF THAT LAND NEED TO GO.

It is that simple and they are already carrying out a similar policy on the Africans there.

The "European Jews" get along wonderfully with the indigenous people of that land.

Surely you are not suggesting the land be ethnically cleansed of all people who can't get along with the indigenous peoples, are you? That seems awfully morally slippery of you.

Now, did you want to address the actual topic? Why would a Mandate not work as a solution?

I am saying that if it will work for the African refugees it will work for the Europeans too.

Why limit it to only parts of Palestine?

Are we just going to toss the Palestinian's right to territorial integrity, the right to return, etc.?

Because Israel is not having any trouble self-governing.

And no, we are not tossing Palestinian rights to territory or return. We are just acknowledging Israel's identical rights.

Israel has rights on Palestinian land?

Interesting legal concept.

There are TWO kinds of Palestinians. Jewish Palestinians (now called Israelis) and Arab Palestinians. Each has equal rights.

You have still posted ZERO PROOF that the first temple existed.

Here's a "solution" for you, forcefully convert all Muslim Palestinians to Judaism like the Hasmoneans did to their neighbours and let the new Jewish Palestinians return to their homes; problem solved. Peace in the Middle East at last!

How about actually addressing the points she made...:dunno:...novel idea.

It actually makes some sense, and it's thinking outside of the traditional box.

Israel is already a long established sovereign nation...recognized as such. You can't undo that. So what we need to do is find a just and equitable way to do the same for the Palestinians.

At this point the only thing that would work is a three state solution. One disarmed state in Gaza under total Palestinian control, one shared in the West Bank minus the Jewish population and related territory to be annexed by Israel, with a united Jewish controled Jerusalem as its capital. :clap2:

Where would you put a Palestinian state. Israel already has its fat ass parked inside Palestine.

What about the people who had orange groves in Jaffa or factories in Haifa or farms spread out all over Palestine?

Should we just give them an apartment in Ramallah with no jobs and call it just?

Wanna bet? History is full of states that no longer exist or are not recognised internationally. Currently 31 UN member states do not recognise the Zionist paradise, it only takes that number to grow, and "Israel" will end up like "Northern Cypus" only recognised by Turkey.

What points? This is just a rehash of a failed project of the late 20th century. Wonder how the US and Israel would react if the Palestinians chose Iran, Russia or China to be their mandatory power; be careful what you propose, the law of unintended consequences has a nasty habit of rearing it's ugly head when you least expect it.
