Speaker Mike Johnson said on Friday that he would “strongly” discourage the release of a damaging bipartisan investigative report on the conduct of former Representative Matt Gaetz of Florida, whom President-elect Donald J. Trump said would be his attorney general nominee.
The House Ethics Committee had planned a vote on releasing the results of its yearslong investigation of Mr. Gaetz over allegations of sexual misconduct and illicit drug use, but the panel’s proceedings were halted by his resignation from Congress after being put forward on Wednesday for the country’s top law-enforcement job. Senators in both parties then demanded to see the report.

Sen. Cornyn (R) says he wants to see it as part of what could be an ill fated confirmation process. Maybe to give him cover to vote against confirmation. If he doesn't get to see the report he will get to see the routine FBI background check performed on all nominees.
Personally, I think it's going to get leaked.
