House dismisses resolution condemning Perry ranch

Except the Stimulus didn't fail and the S&P, which got the math wrong in the first place, incorporated a new formula to determine ratings. Punditry.

Good job boys.

57 States!

Go see a Doctor about that concussion.

Where is UE today? Have you checked? Is it under 8%? Was our debt downgraded?

You first.

It's down from 10%, which was the high when Obama took office and before the Stimulus started working.

It's easy to claim failure.

You FAILED.

See?

Easy.

Wow. I can sense the anger and desperation in your posts. It must be hard coming to the realization that something you genuinely believed would help this country turned out to do the complete opposite. We all get duped at some point in our lives.

When Obama took office the UE was under 8 percent. In fact he promised if we passed his stimulus unread it would PREVENT UE from going over 8 percent. So either you just lied or you are to stupid to handle facts and reality. YOU pick.

I'm so bored with the pathetic whining coming from black democrats and their guilt ridden white buddies. Who gives a shit, it's just a word, what the fuck does niggerhead mean anyway? Why give silly bullshit so much power? The black race seems to want to remain where they are, I've been hearing the same shit for 45 years.

Blacks need to look into any asian group that shows up here with absolutely nothing, that turn their lives around and kick ass. I have a Vietnamese friend who came here with the clothes on his back, had to watch his parents get killed by the Vietcong as a kid. He has become a very successful artist, brought his brothers and sisters here and they all are doing extremely well....... of course, they work their asses off....... oh and they are all conservatives.

REALLY???? THIS is what our tax dollars are paying for? Can this asshat be fired or impeached for wasting tax payer dollars on nonsense like this?

how much time and money did they spend to go after Clinton for a bj?

No. They went after Clinton for perjury. This asshat Jackson is wasting time about a fucking rock!?

A phucking rock that was painted over in 1986

Of course they did. Many of them still use the N word anyway!

The House voted to set aside a privileged resolution aimed at condemning the stone on Perry's ranch offered earlier in the day by an impassioned Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-IL).

Earlier in the day, Jackson read his resolution on the floor. It called on the House to:

“Condemn Texas Governor Rick Perry for using a secluded West Texas hunting camp as a place to host lawmakers, friends and supporters on hunting trips at a place known by the name painted in block letters across a large, flat rock standing upright at its gated entrance called 'N*****head.'"

Good... what a waste of time.

Let's assume that Perry had the worst intentions here. (Complete nonsense). Let's say for argument that he is the biggest racist in the world.

Congress is supposed to waste their time condemning someone for their beliefs? Really? We have massive debt, high unemployment, out of control government bueaucracies, and inflation and people think Congress should spend their time condeming a person for exercising their freedom to think?

We know Perry isn't a racist. So why the heck waste our time with this resolution that will do absolutely nothing.

Because the low life Democrats encourage it and permit. It's how they keep the country divided. Their game isn't new,, they've just upped it that's all.

You are so well trained..... ****** is so powerful of a word that it isn't even allowed to be written in a conversation about it....... you don't get just how ridiculous that is? What other word has that much power. Do you participate in book burnings too?

No. They went after Clinton for perjury. This asshat Jackson is wasting time about a fucking rock!?

No. They went on a multi-million dollar fishing expedition and used it to impeach a popular Democratic president.

Although..I agree..this was a big fucking waste of time to "condemn" Perry.

The media did a pretty good job already.

No. They went after him for perjury. If he had not lied, there would not have been a reason to go after him.

Perjury.

ummmmmmmmm sounding pretty defensive there. settle down and look at reality. Quit regurgitating bullshit excuses and outright lies.

What lie?

You find, once, in the history of the S&P, where they incorporated the political atmosphere into the formula for bond ratings. Once.

And the Stimulus worked. Ask ol' Perry. He used the money to plug up holes in his budget. Then bragged about having his budget balanced.

So go for it.

I'm not a fan of perry but how exactly does that make the stimulus a success

I agree with your S&P point, and the fact of the matter is that peoples disdain for that rating should not go along political persuasion

However, by no measures did the stimulus work. Saying oh it would have been much worse is not a measure... Things didn't get better therefore it did not work. Here comes the it wasn't big enough excuse which in itself is an admittance of failure

They did not tout the bill to do absolutely nothing... they did not sell it as a 1 percent solution...

Unemployment hit 10.0 in October of Obamas first year while Bush's policies largely contributed to that, to put that in perspective Bush catches a lot of blame for September 11 because he was in office 9 months. You can't have it both way... I'd say both of them share some fault for that happened early in their terms but not entirely. However, if you look at the unemployment after the Stimulus was enacted in February. Unemployment was 9.7 in February 2 months later it was up to 9.9 again... it went down to 9.7 and a low of 9.5. So it either work for a drop of .2 or .4.

Can we also remember the months in which the unemployment hit these lows was while government was hiring a lot of positions for the census. After the Census was completed unemployment went back up to 9.8. So maybe .1? The stimulus did nothing but put us in a bigger hole. It is not what explains the drop in 1 percent.

The stimulus did essentially nothing, since its passage I have traveled across the Northeast, New York, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Road Island. I now moved to Texas, and I can't point to one thing this bill did. I don't know where the money went now he wants more for infrastructure? I think thats a good idea but why didnt the fucking incompetent jackass do that the first time around like he said it was for.

The bill was a complete waste, it went to nothing productive... That money should have already been spent on infrastructure

How you can defend him and this bill is beyond me and beyond logic.

Way off topic now, but yea Congress sucks... Illinois makes me feel good about coming from NY with the garbage of people they produce.

Exactly.

Obama and his team of advisers did not say "we THINK we have a handle on the economy anbd we THINK this may work.

No. They said (paraphrased)

"we know how to fix the economy and a stimulus of this amount will work. We have our top economists on it, and they all said this is what needs to be done"

And to now backtrack and say "the economy was worse than we thought" and "imagine how bad it would be without it" is disingenuous.

But I expect nothing less of this administraston.....one of excuses and spin.

Has anyone pointed out to the imbecile that Clinton was actually in office... Not a candidate who isn't even going to get the nomination

And I know Perry is a state governor but the house has no business in that

the FAIL is yours...

After Failed “Stimulus” Binge, CBO Says Unemployment Rate Could Remain Above 8% Until 2014
The Obama Administration promised its “stimulus” spending binge would keep the unemployment rate below 8 percent. That didn’t happen. Since the “stimulus” was enacted, more than 1.3 million jobs have been lost and unemployment has averaged 9.5 percent. Now, as the Democrats running Washington push for more of the same failed “stimulus” policies, a new report from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates the unemployment rate could stay above 8 percent until 2014

DREARY ECONOMIC PICTURE”: “The Congressional Budget Office painted a dreary economic picture Wednesday … The national unemployment rate – now at 9.1 percent – isn’t expected to drop below 8 percent until 2014, according to the report on the country’s budget and economic outlook.” (Politico, 8/24/11)

“LOUSY JOB MARKET”: “Under current law, it says, federal tax and spending policies will impose substantial restraint on the economy … The U.S. economy won’t be operating at potential – meaning that labor and capital are fully employed – until 2017 … That means a lousy job market for years to come. CBO expects the unemployment rate to fall from today’s 9.1 to 8.5 percent in the fourth quarter of 2012—and then to remain above 8% until 2014.” (Wall Street Journal, 8/24/11)

“SLOW GROWTH & HIGH UNEMPLOYMENT”: “The Congressional Budget Office projects slow growth and high unemployment for years to come as a result of the financial crisis and recession, a new report shows. In its semi-annual update of budget and economic data, the agency ... projects the jobless rate will fall to 8.9% by the end of this but remain above 8% until 2014.” (USA Today, 8/24/11)
Yup. Sure looks like the stimulus worked... NOT.

Obama also said this...

"If I don’t have this done in three years, then there’s gonna be a one term proposition."
