Hossfly

Hell, I only check my mailbox every few months for mail, I hate mail, then it might be a couple more months before I even go through it, unless of course, there is something there I need that I'm expecting
I thought that was only me šŸ˜‚.
I let my mail pile up in the box until I HAVE TO open it. It's just junk mail and bills anyway. Kinda developed a fear of mail over the years. Definitely a bad habit, but that's me now

Hossfly, though I am an infrequent poster, throughout my years here, I always held a special place in my heart for the kind of man you are, a principled man of common sense, compassion, and quiet dignity. Seeing your avatar compelled me to click on your posts. I knew something of value to me is what I would find there.

Then, when one day you started an OP about a man I had never heard of, Dale Smith, I joined in and found a weekly communication with Dale, another man I had wonderful feelings about. He was living with a terminal cancer diagnosis and I loved touching bases with him on a Sunday, until I read of his passing and mourned him for a long time, after that and still to this day, often think of.

The main memory of Dale Smith and his videos always made me smile, for who was always there by his side as he bravely battled a slow and painful death each and every day? You were, Hossfly. You would travel from your town in Texas to Dale's house in Texas. You helped a beautiful man die with a best friend by his side. I, often tearfully, loved you for being there for him. "A friend in need is a friend indeed."

I'll always love you both for that short chapter in my life. Somehow, through it all, you and Dale made me a better person. We'll all meet up again, bringing a new beginning with one another.

Best post I have read in a long long time. Thank you.

I miss Dale, too.

I told her that if he is able, to get on the board and read how loved he is. She said ok.

His brother went by the handle Bloodrock44 when he posted here years ago. The family used to live in the Fayetteville NC area, they may still. As I have said before, Hossfly and his brother are true patriots. Wonderful people. I am so relieved to hear Hossfly is still with us. God bless, and thanks to the people on the board here at USMB who reached out like Gracie and Coyote.

For those of you who are interested, this is a post regarding Hossfly's infantry Unit and their Commanding Officer. Hossfly's brother talks a bit about his service. They are patriots all.

Watching it now. But as soon as I saw the part of Lydon Johnson...I got angry. Murderer...of our POTUS and all those men and women in Nam because he wanted his war. MURDERER.

But this isn't about that asswipe. Its about our Hossfly...who survived it and now is our friend. Thank you Hossfly, for your service.

Its been do long i forgot about that part and was not aware of that, shows you how long its been sense i seen that movie.

what that film did not go into is that johnsons pal DICK Nixon "he should NEVER have been called Richard." was Nixon was also a murderer of the greatest president of the 20th century. He had deep ties to the mob and CIA as VP under Eisenhower pardoning jack ruby from crimes.

our friend hossfly will tell you the same thing that it was not the NVA or the vietcong that murdered those 58,000 americans,it was johnson and Nixon. Nixon lied to the American people that he would end the war immediately as he could have but let it drag on an another four more years expanding it into vietnam illegally bombing them. The movie ALSO on the vietnam war Born on the fourth of july, goes briefly into that.

there are threads on that in the history section on that subject so any further discussion on it can be said there,

sense this is hossflys thread, that is something we discussed a bit sense he was in nam. he can elaborate on all that i mentioned.

sure miss having those discussions with you in PM's Hoss.I greatly always appreciated you sharing your experiences with me over the years on your experiences in vietnam.:)
