Hossfly

Meh, I wouln't call the Admiral a troll, just a cranky veteran that's a stickler for details that while it's annoying, I can respect that cause I do that too sometimes. And I'll give him credit for trying to be nice about the correction.......in his own way. :rolleyes:
.

I am the same way, but I have manners. Given the nature of the thread, I might have chosen to correct the poster in private.

One rule growing up, which I appreciated, was give praise in public and correction in private.

.

Tbh, most are not bothered about Hossfly. He/she she doesn't give a toss about others, so I wouldn't bother about him/her.

Folk come and go for many reasons, apart from your parents and siblings (in most cases), no one is important
Everyone is important, forums don't last long in todays world and only due to free speech and via contributors of all types do they last. I dont follow this section much but Hossfly was a good man from what I could tell. Perhaps even a rare man of honour and courage in a world sorely lacking them. May he R.I.P if he has passed.

Oh no! How did you find out?
yeah that is so sad to hear although the only thing that surprises me is I had expected that he passed away back in february when this thread was created. that is a good question we are all wondering,how DID you find that out Meister ?

Me and Hoss spoke regularly,this really saddens me,we were making plans for me to come out to texas and visit him this summer we were that tight.:(

I guarantee he did not have the will to go on to live the fact he lost his wife he had been marred to like 50 years. same thing happened with my best friends parents,they were married about that long as well and he was a prophet,he said once his mom or dad died the other would not be able to go on much longer after that and sure enough he was right,after his mom died his dad died a year later.

The obituary was forwarded to me.

Sorry to hear this. He was one of the good ones on this site. He will be greatly missed.
How do you determine "He was one of the good ones."
without a doubt, he served and deserves the ultimate respect.

But what
differentiates Hossfly from other Patriotic Posters on this Site.
******* there are Patriots on both sides of the Political Spectrum.

You agree or not?

We hoped the trolls could manage to stay civil in such a thread as this, but........

At any rate, we loved ya', Hoss.
Much RESPECT to Hossfly.

Everyone is important,
I beg to differ--- everyone is NOT important. In fact, I'd say the lion's share of people in this world tend to not be important.

forums don't last long in todays world and only due to free speech and via contributors of all types do they last.
I can think of many kinds of contributors who do not contribute to a forum's longevity because their influence everywhere they go is purely corrosive and destructive.

You'll note that while Hoss followed a lot of people, not all for the same reasons, as exemplified in the names of the people here showing regret at his loss. I don't see very many "Lefties" here except Playtime.

Further, it is BS about moving or needing to move this thread for "free speech"--- there is nothing anyone can't say here about Hoss in Announcements or Badlands. If you can't say it here, it probably isn't true.

I will let this slide and chalk it up to you having a bad day. Perhaps you should re-assess your reaction and ask is this really appropriateness for this thread?

Let's not politicize this please.

Much RESPECT to Hossfly.
His messages to me were always very cordial and uplifting. A "good one" indeed.

Drawback through time to that tenuous vine,
as it resolvedly climbs toward G-d's shine;
soul twines up life's tree, feeding on light;
budding with souls busy at night.

This vine of life spans all the ages,
connecting hossfly with poets, and sages;
While a breeze breathes through its leaves;
whispering secrets no one retrieves.
