Looks like a pretty good tough of meat

I could not live in Florida, as I would be arrested for killing Alligators. They are better protected than people, by both state and federal law.

In Tennessee, I do not allow water moccasins to come near my kayak, on the water, though they are protected here. Instead, I tend to shoot them, until they are no longer a threat. It is easier for a snake to disappear without consequence than an 11 ft 4 inch alligator.

Where do the Brits find this stuff? No gators in England but plenty of crocs in Australia.

As far as I'm concerned most of those predators should be hunted to Extinction.... I realize there was a balance of prey and prey animals out there
That could cause overpopulation....

In my opinion however following animals serve no real purpose except to be a danger to humans:

Polar bears
Alligators
Crocodiles
Lions
Tigers
Large breed bears in general

Our romantic attachment to these species as if we are religiously bound somehow to make sure they survive is foolish.

While I would not hunt any specie to extinction, I think alligators are overpopulated in Florida, especially in proximity to human populations. Some Florida wildlife, not native to Florida, such a pythons should indeed be wiped out, in the wild, in Florida, where they already represent a danger to native mammals, including humans.

I have no real problem with the snakes of Tennessee, non-poisonous or poisonous. In younger days I have caught many, releasing without harm or temporarily keeping for display, before release. I mentioned cotton-mouth moccasins, only as far as, when approaching me on the water, in my kayak (very low to the water) they are a great danger to me, as I have only encountered while in the back country, usually by myself, miles from roads and often beyond cell service. Though I figure, they are only approaching out of curiosity, I do not believe in taking chances, as I have seen them attempt to come into a John-boat, while fishing with my dad.
