Hollywood and Bible-themed movies are nothing new. Used to be because of movie censorship, in order to show anything even remotely sexy you had to put it into a religious context. Now that such restrictions are gone, there's a lack of such religious-themed movies other than those in the thriller-horror genre. But the reviews of recent specials on tv like "The Bible" have shown continuing interest in Bible-themed epics. Though just as sex was used to spark interest 50+ years ago, action is being used now (as in "The Bible" where the angels were depicted as sword-wielding action heroes.) I expect lots more action violence to come. But because it's a religious story it's ok, G-d likes violence...
