3. Purposely downplayed the severity of a deadly pandemic bearing down on America
4. Purposely enabled thousands of Americans to gather in close quarters as a deadly pandemic was killing Americans
5. Aggressively isolated us from the rest of the free world, alienating our allies, surrendering our status as "Leader of the Free World"

For example, Trump DID condemn the violence in Charlottesville and DID condemn the white supremacists there, even though the media twisted his words saying, "there were good people on both sides". The protest was over the tearing down of Robert E Lee, who was a pivotal historical figure, they were not all white supremacists and racists. So the media lies and REFUSES to acknowledge Trump condemning the violence and the racists. I presume even you don't believe this and believe the Don Lemmings of the world instead. I can even show you the video tape of when he did condemn it, but you have no interest I'm sure.

And such things as the Pandemic, who was down playing it? Was it Trump banning travel from China and Europe or those accusing him of xenophobia and fearmongering for doing it like Biden and Pelosi?

The comparison that is most apt in the American story, is the rise of Adolf Hitler in pre-War Europe. An electorate who were being fiscally abused by their government to the benefit of others. In the case of the USA, it's 80 percent of the income and wealth going to the top. In Germany it was reparations for WWI.

The American people have twice voted for change and have yet to get it. 40 years of Republican tax and economic structure have lead to three economic crashes, each worse than the last. The transfer of the wealth from the bottom to the top is ACCELERATING under Donald Trump, not slowing.

40 years of Republicans policies have left the American people sick, broke and unemployed - again. American workers need a better deal. Trump is offering more of the same.

So you would say that America is not comparable to the Soviet Union but IS comparable to the Nazi regime?

I will agree that there are MANY comparisons to the Nazi regime to what is going on now as well, but my guess is that you would only agree with those comparisons so long as you can demonize Trump as Hitler, otherwise that comparison would be absurd as well, right?

I suggest if you are really interested in the truth, you check out a book called, "Hitler's Beneficiaries". In it you will see chilling comparisons to the US and the Nazi regime. The author does not make comparisons to the US and Nazi regime, rather, he only describes what the Nazi regime did.

The Nazi regime

1. Embraced a centralized government that took all wealth to redistribute it for two things, the military and socialistic policies. In fact, the German citizen had a higher standard of living than those in the US during the war.
2. Hitler targeted the top 4% of the wealthy in Germany to confiscate their wealth.
3. Hitler picked on the Jews in Germany who were statistically more wealthy than the rest of the public.
4. The Germans were ardent environmentalists, starting the first National parks and putting animals and plants on endangered species lists for the first time
5. The Nazi party were ardent animal rights advocates. In fact, Hitler was a vegetarian because he loved animals so much and passed the most progressive legislation to protect them.
6. Hitler ran up a massive debt and told the government not to pass budgets so as not to attract concern over it.
7. Hitler passed the first gun regulation laws in Germany.

I could go on, but I'm sure you have no interest.

And no, there was not much difference between the Nazi form of government and USSR form other than the fact that Hitler was smart enough to know that letting experts run industry was better than clueless bureaucrats. Control was the only issue, which Hitler had full control over industry. They jumped at his every whim.

There is NOTHING "historic" about Trump's "normalization agreements". These aren't "peace treaties". Neither Bahrain nor the United Arab Emirates are at war with Isreal so there was no "peace" to be brokered between them. Neither of these nations have EVER attacked Isreal.

Trump should take his Nobel Prize nomination and be grateful. These are just dog and pony shows to distract the voters from the abject failure of Trump's domestic policies.

Not saying what came after was better but it seems there needs to be reminder here that Russia had been a brutal absolute monarchy before the Bolshevik revolution. They have never known anything that resembles freedom and democracy in their entire history and seem to prefer strongman autocrats over democracy. That is where any parallels to our current strife fail. No one in America is looking to follow a glorious dictatorial leader except the Trumpbots.

There is another variation that the globalist of the time fomented that. They were not enamored with the Czar and needed to experiment in a system of government for world control. Communism was one.

The problem with this whole thing is discussing Russian history only from 1905 on. Before that, Russiabhad a solidly authoritarian government under the absolute rule of the Tsar. Things were not so good for the average person under this government in the centuries prior to 1905. Authoritarian government always contains the seeds of its own downfall. Well it is true that Trump is the first President to vocally acknowledge and fight the Left wing partisan nature of the press, academia, and most of the federal government as most other Republican Presidents have avoided a coup attempt in the process. And it is equally true that demagogues like John McCain, who ran and voted to end things like Obamacare when Obama was in office knowing he would veto it, but then voting against it when Trump was there to sign it, are accomplices to the Left winged agenda. But then, John got to go out on a good note as the press lavished praise for him when he spoke out against Trump, as where when he ran against Obama he was labeled a racist who depended on his daddy for promotion in the Navy.

Notice no one on the left was decried by the press for such attacks on a "war hero".

And, of course, wingers on both sides only see the faults of the other.
