I think she knows she will coast to the nomination this time, so instead of doing the discreditable race to the middle after the nomination, she is doing that now. She wants to appeal to the middle now, since that looks more creditable.

I like how she is bucking Obama. Her stances on this are right.

Bullshit.
Her book sales, a proxy for popularity, suck. She will not say anything that risks alienating part of her base. She speaks in platitudes, not in specifics. She is closely identified with the failed foreign policy of Barack Obama and will suffer in the coming months as the chickens come home.
I cannot say with certainty she will even run.

There are many many definitions of "smart". And while she may not be stupid, many of her recent actions, do not give credibility to any label above the "not stupid" mark.

That said, being smart has nothing to do with what quality of person she is. She's a scum bag. I'd vote for absolutely anyone.... as in *ANYONE* other than her. She's a terrible person, and I would see her winning election for president, as my que to move to Canada.

Why is it, when people cannot say anything particularly nice about a woman, they say that she is "smart" or "a good organizer".

I am not just talking about Hillary here. This is a recurring thing I have noticed in life in general.
