Highly Reported Mental Health Correlates With Conservative Political Views

A 2020 Pew Research Center study found that 62% of White liberals had been diagnosed with a mental health condition by a medical professional, compared to only 26% of conservatives and 20% of moderates (Pew, American Trends Panel Wave 64). This trend is particularly pronounced among younger liberals, especially White liberal women. And a study from the General Social Survey also supports these findings, revealing that individuals who identify as “extremely liberal” consistently report poorer mental health than those identifying as moderate or conservative (Psychology Today).

Yeah, yeah ok....Mock if you will...But, this is a real problem...

I'd love to hear what some of our resident progressives have to say....Wouldn't you?

Well, it looks like they are not as well rounded as they need to be with all that "intelligence".
How intelligent does one have to be, to become totally ignorant and dismissive of all the facts that show a child's life begins at and by conception?

Comment: The trend these days is crazy (so to speak)....We see that many on the left are loathed to have a real conversation about anything. The reflexive nature to just tune them out is getting to a fever pitch. But we know that when people are mentally ill, and are ignored, their propensity for violence is heightened.

But we see it here at USMB as well...More often than not we can predict how any particular progressive liberal will approach a political disagreement...They include;

RE: Democrats are more likely mentally disturbed

Maybe you have this backwards. Maybe the mentally disturbed are more likely Democrats because they know the GOP has no sympathy and will offer no help and will try to defund any programs that do help.

Because conservatives are less likely to acknowledge and/or seek help for mental health issues at all, especially if they are religious which, at least in the US, goes hand in hand. Studies have shown for years that conservative ideology stigmatized mental health.

What did all of you PROGRAM lovers do to get your heads right before there was a Father Government and unlimited taxpayer cash?

Also less likely to have the funds and/or insurance to seek out either counseling or medication.

There is not necessarily anything wrong with using alternatives to both, in my opinion, especially medication, which can have side effects like all prescription medications, and if the Rx meds can be avoided, all the better, but the stigma associated with seeking professional help does deter a great many who would likely benefit from it.
