If it wasn't a big deal she wouldn't have been suspended dummy.

The only reason she's suspended is because of "outrage". Without it she would get a pass, because essentially they agree with her.

CNN is just making an example of her. They don't want their Liberal reporters providing proof of their personal bias. It makes it harder for CNN to pretend they are Fair and Balanced.
