Zone1 Here's Why White Guilt About Slavery Is Insane

White ba

White babies born out of wedlock AREN'T "just fine" I was one, no father and abandoned by my mother. I was raised poor by my grandmother and had to work very hard to move up from being dirt poor to comfortable middle class. I have worked ever since the fourth grade. Before I was old enough for a paper route, I worked at a newsstand hawking newspapers on the corner of Sixth and Alvarado in Los Angeles. I got a half cent for each ten-cent paper I sold. I had a paper route until I turned sixteen, then I went to work for Pup-N-Taco where I worked until I was seventeen and graduated high school, I then enlisted in the Army during Vietnam. I have served, worked or gone to college every year of my adult life to better myself. Any black kid in any ghetto in the USA could do the same. Most turn to crime like most of my friends did. Poverty isn't limited by skin color. One of the biggest reasons I detest you is my background and how you give a pass to criminals and thugs based upon their skin color.
Here, here!

You're wrong. Slavery was THE key issue in the South. It was enshrined in the Confederate Constitution.
From the Constitution of the Confederacy:

ARTICLE IV

Section I. (I) Full faith and credit shall be given in each State to the public acts, records, and judicial proceedings of every other State; and the Congress may, by general laws, prescribe the manner in which such acts, records, and proceedings shall be proved, and the effect thereof.

Sec. 2. (I) The citizens of each State shall be entitled to all the privileges and immunities of citizens in the several States; and shall have the right of transit and sojourn in any State of this Confederacy, with their slaves and other property; and the right of property in said slaves shall not be thereby impaired.

(2) A person charged in any State with treason, felony, or other crime against the laws of such State, who shall flee from justice, and be found in another State, shall, on demand of the executive authority of the State from which he fled, be delivered up, to be removed to the State having jurisdiction of the crime.

(3) No slave or other person held to service or labor in any State or Territory of the Confederate States, under the laws thereof, escaping or lawfully carried into another, shall, in consequence of any law or regulation therein, be discharged from such service or labor; but shall be delivered up on claim of the party to whom such slave belongs,. or to whom such service or labor may be due.

Sec. 3. (I) Other States may be admitted into this Confederacy by a vote of two-thirds of the whole House of Representatives and two-thirds of the Senate, the Senate voting by States; but no new State shall be formed or erected within the jurisdiction of any other State, nor any State be formed by the junction of two or more States, or parts of States, without the consent of the Legislatures of the States concerned, as well as of the Congress.

(2) The Congress shall have power to dispose of and make allneedful rules and regulations concerning the property of the Confederate States, including the lands thereof.

(3) The Confederate States may acquire new territory; and Congress shall have power to legislate and provide governments for the inhabitants of all territory belonging to the Confederate States, lying without the limits of the several Sates; and may permit them, at such times, and in such manner as it may by law provide, to form States to be admitted into the Confederacy. In all such territory the institution of negro slavery, as it now exists in the Confederate States, shall be recognized and protected be Congress and by the Territorial government; and the inhabitants of the several Confederate States and Territories shall have the right to take to such Territory any slaves lawfully held by them in any of the States or Territories of the Confederate States.

(4) The Confederate States shall guarantee to every State that now is, or hereafter may become, a member of this Confederacy, a republican form of government; and shall protect each of them against invasion; and on application of the Legislature or of the Executive when the Legislature is not in session) against domestic violence.

You are talking about something else. I talked about war and you talked about secession.

Modern woke pseudo-history paints a fabricated story of slavery; that white men came to Africa, stole Africans from their lands, and brought them to America. It was White American men, and only White American men, who were guilty of this, and it was a large majority of them as well. This was unique to the world at the time and in world history, and is a special evil in the history of mankind.

Of course, this is all complete nonsense, and is just woke propaganda we were taught in schools or are being told by politicians or media pundits today. But it's important to look at the context and just how insanely wrong these claims are. Let's look at total number of slaves, for example:

It is absolutely true that the Trans-Atlantic slave trade, in which Africans captured other Africans and sold them, shipped approximately 12.5 million slaves across the Atlantic to the Americas.

The Issue becomes where those slaves were taken. A woke liberal would probably assume that 12.5 million slaves were taken from Africa and sent to the American south. That would be insanely false. The breakdown looks like this:
  • 5.4 million were sent to Brazil
  • 3.6 million were sent to the Carribean
  • 1.2 million were sent to Jamaica
  • 900,000 were sent to St. Dominique (French Colony)
  • 889,000 were sent to Cuba
  • 470,000 were sent to the United States

So in this cry of woke left Democrat social justice warriors... cries of the unique evil of America, white men, etc... they make the claims they do when American only partook in 3% of the Trans-Atlantic Slave trade.

Add to that how there were only about 390,000 slave owners in the USA out of a population of 31 million... and you have approximately 1.2% of the population participating or benefitting from it, yet is that what Democrats, leftists, or educators say, address, or teach?

Slavery is an evil that has existed as long as human history has. All races have been enslaved, many continue to be. As far as America is concerned, it basically happened for 90 years nearly 200 years ago. However, no woke Democrat can legitimately point the finger at the USA as some unique evil in slavery, nor can they say we were any leader in it. They need to point the finger at Africans of the times first, and then all the South American/Brazilian/Carribean nations who were far greater participants.

And this is just the Trans-Atlantic slave trade. Again, Slavery exists across the world at far greater rates throughout history.

So, any person who wants to demonize the USA and White people as a unique evil as far as slavery, or as a major historical cause of it, is just revealing their tragic indoctrination and ignorance of history.
You could make quite a passable holocaust denier, you have all the rhetorical tricks pretty much mastered.

e.g. how about this

Genocide is an evil that has existed as long as human history has. All races have been subject to it, many continue to be.

or

So, any person who wants to demonize Fascists and German people as a unique evil as far as genocide, or as a major historical cause of it, is just revealing their tragic indoctrination and ignorance of history.

You presume we have a color blind society. I'm not convinced of that.
Your presumption is that racism is so systemic that it can only be addressed through government regulation and anyone who disagrees must be a racist.

Attacking my race doesn’t answer the argument. Disagreement with a policy proposal isn’t denial of history or racism by default. If reparations are a 2026 policy claim, argue it with evidence and specifics — not personal accusations.
You have no basis on which to disagree because others have received reparations.

I am quite sure no one living in 1980 was alive when the U.S. government made the Fort Laramie treaty with the Sioux Nation or were participants in Custers violation of that treaty. Nor were they alive when President Grant decided it was OK to let settlers and people prospecting for gold tresspass into land promised to the Sioux thereby violating the treaty. No one in 1980 was alive when the U.S. government decided to take the land from the Sioux by military force. No one in 1980 was alive when the U.S. government decided to cut off supplies they promised the Sioux as condition for their surrender after whipping the U.S. Army at The Battle of Little Bighorn. But in 1980, the government of the United States decided reparations were due to the Sioux Nation for what was done to them in the 1800’s. They awarded the Sioux nation 105 million dollars.

This is just one example. Cobel v. Salazar and others are additional examples. Confederate soldiers and their descendants got reparations until at least 2017. President Obama released funds to pay Jews reparations for WW2 even though our country did not commit the crimes. You guys have been shown this, yet you still try to argue. After a while, repeating myself gets old, so you can just stop with your trifling, obtuse commentary.

The government created the racism via laws and public policy, so it's stupid to think that the government has no role in ending it.

Obama released $12 million to pay ACTUAL Holocaust surivivors. I am all for Trump releasing $12 million to pay ACTUAL slaves.

As far as blacks age 65 or under, you already got your reparations by being jumped over better qualified whites for college spots, law and medical spots, jobs, and promotions.

Yes, the racist policies are the DEI ones that penalize whites and reward blacks.

Democrats created it and republicans ended it.

You want blacks to pay black's reparations, for what? What land in the USA did Blacks lose?

Too funny, why won't anyone accept the truth? Blacks were one of the largest suppliers of blacks into Slavery.

IKR? With the drug trade, those held most responsible are the providers - the drug dealers. But when the trade is slavery, leftists blame the purchaser - the whites - while holding the African providers barely responsible at all.
