Here’s A Rundown Of Republican Excuses Of Trumps Disastrous Week

Donald Trump's first full week in office was an abject disaster.

The just-inaugurated president tried to implement a freeze on all congressionally appropriated federal funding. The blatantly unlawful effort would have led to massive human suffering had the administration not backed downamid a massive pressure campaignby Democratic lawmakers and a lawsuit filed by 23 Democratic attorneys general.

He blamed the DEI bogeyman, aka diversity, equity, and inclusion, for the tragic Wednesday plane crash in Washington, D.C., before any investigation had taken place into what could have caused the disaster—and before all 67 victims had even been identified.

He announced 25% tariffs on Mexico and Canadathat will spike grocery prices and effectively lead to tax increases for all Americans.

And he started implementing his purge of the federal workforce, which could have damaging impacts on Americans, all in an effort to get revenge on the people he thinks wronged him.

But instead of standing up to Trump, Republican lawmakers gave mealymouthed statements trying to defend his lawless and cruel behavior.

Basically, nothing has changed since 2016.

In what also feels like a bad case of deja vu, Wall Street Journal columnist Peggy Noonan reportedthat Republicans are back to expressing private frustration with Trump, while publicly supporting his every whim.

Looks like things didn’t quite go as planned.
Cut and pasted from the daily commies?

You are supposed to use "rawstory" as the tabloid of choice.

I’m quite happy, it’s a very successful week from my, and most conservatives’, perspective.

Your just mad that he’s doing things you dont like, although I can’t imagine why you want men playing women in sports, horrible illegal criminals in the country, child sex trafficking, wanting to be confused on what a man/woman is, and maintaining massive corruption and scandals in government spending… but that’s your prerogative

This is what it looks like when adults enter the room. Your Democrats are corrupt theatric divas, wailing and whining like Winona Ryder in the Crucible. Trump and the GOP have to make the big decisions, you children need to get out of the way… just continue to whine and tantrum in the corner as you are. We will continue to ignore you and have a laugh at your expense.

Consumer inflation fears spike in February as tariff worries hit sentiment

  • The University of Michigan consumer survey showed that respondents expect inflation a year from now to be 4.3%, a 1 percentage point jump from January and the highest since November 2023.
  • Worries over inflation dovetailed with lower optimism overall, as the headline index fell to 67.8, a one-month drop of 4.6% and an 11.8% move lower from the same month a year ago.

You saying he had a bad week, means it was great!

In one week, he threw federal spending into total chaos and had to reverse himself.

He repudiated his own trade deal and launched a pointless, self destructive trade war.

He turned over the Treasury department to an unelected billionaire (including your personal tax records).

Oh, and he used a tragedy to play to his band of bigots, and claim credit for things he had nothing to do with.

Explain how this is doing a great job.
