Here Comes The Quagmire

Iran has 90 million people that just had their economy destroyed
The economy was on the verge of collapsing before the bombing. The country is experiencing extreme drought. The biggest lake, Lake Urmia, has turned into the size of a football field.

Iran’s Hormuz yuan play a direct hit on the petrodollar

If recent reports are accurate that Iran is considering allowing limited tanker passage only if transactions are settled in Chinese yuan, then the issue at stake is no longer merely the movement of ships. It is the future architecture of global energy finance.

It sounds like Iran will let ANY ship pass in exchange for Chinese yuan. Clever.
Okay hot shot, what happens after the ship transits the strait? It runs into the US Navy.
If the oil in the ship isn't Iran's, they don't get anything, if it is Iran's they don't get anything.

So the fat rapist is going to ruin two economies. Theirs and ours.

Overacheiver!

O'rly? Are we intercepting our allies' ships now?

Are we going to war with China now?

You are not thinking this through. In fact, you are not thinking.

Donald Trump is not the first Western leader that Netanyahu has grabbed by the balls and turned into a mercenary for his country. And as long as Netanyahu is alive, Donald Trump probably won't be the last.

Weather derivatives are thing these days. And there's a reason for that...

You do know that China and Russia have been desperately trying for more than three decades to replace the USD as the global currency for oil sale, right? The last guy, Saddam Hussein, tried that and didn’t turn out well.
Exactly the point of Iran's plan. Undermine the petrodollar.

You clearly do not understand what "occupation" means.
We weren't discussing occupation, we were discussing "quagmire".
In exchange for Chinese yuan. Clever.
A few $million in fees won't help Iran.

Who was the first?

It was obvious the War Department (was that name change by our FIFA Peace Prize laureate foreshadowing, or what?) had no intention of regime change in Iran. This exercise is just Trump flexing his sadistic impulses to blow things up like the strongmen he admires so much.

As I have pointed out continuously on this forum, if the original Iran Planâ„¢ was regime change, the US would have forward deployed ground troops

Before anyone jumps the gun and claims there was regime change in Venezuela without troops...no. The same regime is in place, and the military there are hardcore Chavismos. Nothing has changed.

Trump and MAGA World are always trying to change definitions. Like "landslide" when you haven't even won 50 percent of the popular vote, ever. And he and MAGA World are going to try to redefine "regime change" and "victory".

But when you think regime change, think Iraq or Afghanistan or Nazi Germany. That's regime change.

Donald Trump is now at a crossroads. He has not achieved regime change. As soon as one head of government is killed, another pops up to take their place.

The worst case scenario here is that when enough Ayatollahs or other leaders are killed, there will be a military coup and Iran will be run by a strongman. And Trump loves him a strongman. He will actually consider this a victory.

At this juncture, Trump can simply "declare victory and leave", but that will just cause everyone to ROTFLMAO. And he clearly has no intention of declaring victory yet as he is requesting 200 billion more dollars to continue his boondoggle. We've already hit $1 trillion of federal deficit just five months into FY2026, in case you haven't noticed. MAGA hasn't noticed because they are deliberately kept from noticing or saying anything about it.

So...

Sooner or later, Trump is going to have to quit...or deploy ground troops.

Ground troops would be the quagmire. When body bags begin piling up, that's the death of the economy, the Republican Party, and Donald Trump.

putting out propaganda for the Islamofascist regime in Iran will not win the war for them .. the US and Israel have already won .. we could stop military strikes right now and it would be a major victory .. Iran has lost .. the US and Israel will decide how badly the lefts terrorist allies have lost ..

No, it’s you not thinking. Trump is saying to countries leaning toward China to change or he will change them through use of force or economic sanctions. Strange that you don’t have a problem with China doing the same shit to Taiwan.

:cuckoo:

The retardation has fully engulfed gerbil’s minuscule brain.

Iran it looks like has blocked it's own oil from being shipped out so it is suffocating itself.

One and the same. Just like Vietnam and Iraq.

A few $million in fees won't help Iran. Iranian oil isn't going anywhere.
You are not listening.

We are talking about the 20 percent of the world's oil on tankers from all over the world that are currently being blocked from transiting the Strait.

Iran is offering to let them pass unmolested in exchange for some Chinese yuan.
