Here are the “rich” Mamdani wants to tax

Great. Let's talk about that home. What did they pay for it? $80,000. Let's make it $100,000. We got a $700,000 capital gain. At 20%, that is $140,000. Married, sell the damn place, get the $500,000 home capital gains exemption, shave a hundred grand on that tax bill.

They leave the house to the kids. They are only $50,000 over the exemption. So what, the kids can't come up with ten grand for $800,000? If that is the case, damn Skippy it ought to go to the state.
Why should the kids have to come up with $10,000? To give MORE welfare to your 6 kids? You should have supported your own family instead of demanding that owners of modest houses pitch in to do it.

You should be ashamed, you welfare leech.

"I am everything wrong with America wrapped up in one smiling face. I'm a radical Muslim, I'm a Communist and I'm a Democrat. Three strikes and you're out ... out of luck, suckers."

I can damn guarantee there is no "rich family" living in that house. The entire area has been "flipped", this is what it used to look like.

4 bedrooms and three baths, actually sounds like a pretty nice house.

I used to live in a place called Cicero. Owned a building that I bought for $55K in 1987. Sold it for 105K in 2000.

A lot of that was sweat equity. Replaced two furnaces, completely rewired the second floor and most of the first floor, remodeled both bathrooms, and replaced all the windows and doors. Replaced the roof and gutters.

Because of the crazy real estate market of the Aughts, it sold for 155K in 2004 to the next owner. Not becaue the neighborhood got any better, in fact it got worse.

Right now, that property is valued at close to 300K. In Cicero. Which is a dump.

Well, that and the fact they aren't building cost-efficient housing. Too much money building McMansions.
True. City planners don't like affordable single-family homes; they want the property taxes that the McMansions provide. They also want to attract professionals, not the working class, to their cities.

It also shows the reality of socialism: You can’t get enough money from “rich” people to fund all the freebies, so you have to drop down to stealing from the middle class, or even the working class.

And soon, EVERYONE is equal: EQUALLY poor.
Yes. Today it's 750K. Tomorrow it's 500K. Then it will be 250K and 100K.

This is all so far over your head you will never understand it. Why pay ten grand? Because no one has paid the $140,000 grand in capital gains taxes, that's why. And the point of that picture, that well-maintained home is not owned by some descendant of the original owner. It is owned by the damn bank until it is paid for sometime after 2040. It there are homes, that are owned by descendant's, they probably look like the picture I linked.

Mamdani proposes that NY slash its estate tax ceiling from $7 million to $750,000. Below are photos of how these “rich” live, and from whom Mamdani wants to steal in order to give out more welfare, as each house is in the market in NY for more than $800k.

I hope it passes, the city of New York should get what they voted for. Let them see how well this has turned out for them.

I agree. I want the rest of America to see how wonderful the "warmth of collectivism" is.

Seems like a lot of people who don't live in NYC, are really concerned about NYC's mayor.
They should be. He's the nose of the camel in the tent.
A quarter century after radical Muslims attacked New York City, they elected a radical Muslim ... who also happens to be a Communist.
That is the absolute height of stupidity.

And?

Government services cost money. So either you have to raise taxes or cut services, and I suspect Mandami is going to end up having to do both in the end.
LOL. Thanks for proving our point that democrats only want to tax and tax and tax, and not just the rich.

A mayor of a city? I don't live in New York City anymore, so why should I care? With all the problems facing the world or even just facing the USA, why?

Free shit ain’t cheap.

So fun watching this libtard bastion swirl down the drain.

Remember…..it’s not the regular Americans who elected him. If you look at the votes of JUST the regular Americans, he would have lost. The problem is that NYC has 2 million naturalized citizens, including almost 1 million Muslims. The vast majority of them voted for the Islamic Socialist.
