The pawn shop called me and said they got in a like new Henry .22 Magnum lever action.....$350.00 out the door.

I drove down and found that it's the desirable 16.25" octagon barreled version with the large lever and Skinner peep sights. I figure it will make for good trade fodder on down the line. ;)

So the pawn shop has you on speed dial.

He's down there like every day. They probably call him before they even bother putting any guns out in the display case. :SMILEW~130:

I know it's a different gun but......That lever.

They got in three long guns today, but he did not even mention the other two (a .17 Marlin and 6.5 Creedmore B/A) because he knows I have no interest in them.

Pretty much anything military (that's not Bubbaed), lever actions, and revolvers I'll drive down for.

Sadly, there is a Rural King in town so both pawn shops in town get their cast-offs more than anything else.

It's a modified Winchester M1892 SRC.

Note that the saddle ring is now missing.

I know he had that lever custom-made so he could flip the rifle around

Look at the video....Stop it at 21 seconds in....That studded tit you see sticking up from the lever is what allowed Conners to fire the rifle with the lever.
Yes, and the enlarged lever, let him flip the rifle around. Pretty cool piece of TV history.

Interesting video on the .22 long rifle ammo. It confirms what I have posted in the past about Rural Florida folks using .22 for big game. But a Grizzly Bear?!

My favorite description of the lethality of the .22 comes from Cartridges of the World...." people shot by a .22 tend to exhibit no symptoms for several days, then fall over dead"...
