Most people don't realise that Muslims have usually been friends and protecters of the Jews throughout history.

True most people do NOT realize that.

Most (not all) of the time in history, Jews were safer, and freer under Moslem rulers than Christians ones.

There have been times, when CHRISTANS were safer under Moslem rule than under the rule of their fellow Chrstians. That is PART of the reason that there are so many European Slavic Muslems.

Muslims are not enemies of Jews or Judiasm. We respect them and their religion.

Or Israel might bomb Iran, which could draw Russia into the conflict.

I am a Peace loving man, but I do want to see Justice for the abused people of Palestine.

As do millions of Americans, and I do NOT doubt as do a significant number of Israelis.

The question is: given the state of Isreali, now: given the shitty end of the stick history has handed both people: given the fact that both people have forces whose vested interest is to continue to killing and inflame hatred between the Jews and the Palestinians, how do we serve both people's interests?

The WEST is NOT going to abandon Isreal to the fate that the hotheads in the Islamic world would serve it if we did .

Israel is a WESTERN nation, and I do not think that the West is going to stand by and watch the Islamic zealots murder the Isreali Jews.

So the problem won't be solved until BOTH people have had enough of their hawkish ways, and can force their own angry young men to stop the killing.

This problem reminds me of the problem Northern Ireland faced to be honest.

When the gun-toting nitwits can no longer find support from the people they claim to be killing on behalf of, then a solution will be found.

Until that time, I expect to see no real progress.
