Helicopter Carrying Iran’s President Has Crashed, State Media Reports

The Jeeeewwsss..

If it was, tough shit.

The Iranian leadership is waging war against the people of Israel.

If they were able to get inside the lines and decapitate the leadership, good for them. They were killing other people.

Although it could have been an accident, or just done by domestic Iranian opposition. Remember , the Iranian Regime is a far left dictatorship. A lot of people are gunning for them.

Not to throw any conspiracy theories into the mix, but the first one to find the heat signature of the crash site was a Turkish drone, flying over Iranian airspace. Of course, the Turks said they were helping to find the wreckage.

Hmmm.

Ukraine and Iran have no president today, but if elections are held in Iran, Ukraine will be usurped by an unshaven drug addict, because their Constitution does not provide for the extension of Zelensky's powers,

Once again the “terrible Iranian dictatorship” turned out to be more democratic than the beautiful Ukrainian “democracy”.

I was for all of it, except the rebuilding of Iraq. Once we nabbed Saddam, we should have pulled out and left the Iraqis people with the rebuilding cost.
Saddam was a Sunni. Iran is Shiite. When we took out the Sunni's, we did Iran a favor. Maybe we shouldn't have been all for it.

Ebrahim Raisi was known as “the Butcher of Tehran”, who conducted thousands of “5 minute trials” in the 1980s and sentenced 5,000 innocent Iranians to death. Iran will be better off without him at the helm.

His fearsome reputation went back to the 1980s - a period that earned him the dubious soubriquet the Butcher of Tehran.

He sat on the so-called Death Panel of four Islamic judges who sentenced thousands of Iranian prisoners of conscience to their deaths during the purge of 1988.

Mr Raisi was personally involved in two of the darkest periods of Iranian repression. And he was seen as one of the favourite contenders to replace the elderly and ailing Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Celebrations and fireworks in iran

"But why this outburst of joy and celebration over the death of a national leader? And is the celebration just about Raisi or is it emblematic of a fightback by people repressed by a theocratic state?

While many were glued to TV screens and smartphones for updates on the wellbeing of the Iranian President, many in Iran and abroad were seen rejoicing at the possibility of the death of 63-year-old Raisi, who is often referred to as the "Butcher of Tehran".
He was a bad dude.
Raisi—known to critics as the “butcher of Tehran”—was one of four judges who oversaw the execution of thousands of political prisoners in 1988, following the Iran-Iraq War. After leading the judiciary, Raisi became president in 2021, known for cracking down on protesters, enforcing strict dress rules for women, and a confrontational approach to the West and Israel. A protégé of Khamenei’s, Raisi was considered a top candidate to eventually succeed the 85-year-old leader.

Who will President Biden be sending as the US representative to the Iranian President's funeral? John Kerry? Kamala? Val Jarrett?

Iran's late President Ebrahim Raisi a year ago urged the world to abandon the dollar:

“The hegemony of the West is facilitated by the hegemony of the dollar. In order to create a new economic system, it is necessary to remove this element of hegemony in world practice”

Hungary has vetoed a Council of Europe resolution on Ukraine.
The resolution provided for recognizing only Zelensky's “peace plan”, which has nothing to do with reality.

Viktor Orban and his team would do well to beef up security. There's no telling what might happen.

I'm curious to see how Ukranians respond after tomorrow when the useful idiot's presidency officially becomes illegitimate.

Vladimir Putin said that momentous documents should be signed with legitimate authorities.
The question about Zelensky's legitimacy after May 20 should be answered by Ukraine's political and legal system. Which does not exist.
He correctly made it clear that he would not sign anything with an expired one.

Yeah, I was reading that earlier. It's why I mentioned it.

Part of why he can stay is his popularity. And a war is happening.

"For the Ukrainians, the priority is to win the war and then have an election,” explains Anton Hrushetskyi, the head of Kyiv’s International Institute of Sociology.
“Therefore, they don’t question the legitimacy of Zelensky.”

1. Classy people do not gloat over their enemy's death.

2. As the saying goes, when you lose, say nothing. When you win, say even less.

3. When Baroness Thatcher passed, her most bitter political enemies remained publicly 100% silent. No condolences. No cheering. A tribute to British upper class behavior.
