Hedge funds do short, and they do go long, at the same time. That's what hedging means.To be fair, that's precisely what a hedge fund is meant to do ... provide insurance in the UNLIKELY event of the markets going against trend.
It would be bad if hedge funds were betting on a bullish economy.
However, they are moving their bets more toward shorts. That's not a good sign.
I'm sure they aren't shorting the entire Dow industrial average. They are probably intelligently analyzing which specific sectors will suffer the most from Trump's idiocies.
