Frankly, CT, I think NYC is missing out on a huge opportunity. If I were mayor of the city, I'd populate the streets and subways with a variety of marine life:

Dolphins, porpoises, seals, baby whales, and walruses. Maybe throw a few manatee in there for good measure.

They could be trained both as public transportation and as mail/package couriers--- just think of the possibilities. Just think of all the shortcuts that a dolphin would know to save time in cutting across midtown during rush hour?!
