The late great Walter E. Williams PhD, educator/economist/historian/communicator, on more than one occasion said or wrote that as horrible and indefensible as slavery was, he himself greatly benefitted because slave traders dragged his ancestors to America. (He was reasonable convinced that he did descend from American slaves.)

Because he was privileged to be born in America, despite growing up in the Projects during some of the worst of segregation and Jim Crow laws, he was able to be well educated, given every opportunity to prosper and excel in his endeavors, and he made a very good life for himself and his family and significant contributions as a citizen and educator. He died a multi millionaire having earned every penny of that honorably and ethically.

It isn't politically correct of course to point out how blessed black people--all people for that matter--are to be U.S. citizens with all the liberty, choices, options, opportunity this country offers.

There are very few African countries, if any, that offer anything close to those blessings.

IOW, If America is such a terrible place for POC, why, pray tell, are tens of millions of POC breaking down our doors to get in?
