Have the words FASCIST and FASCISM been rendered meaningless?

These inflammatory words are tossed around casually by people who clearly don't know what they mean. The words carry a lot of weight as we all know now that Robinson wrote HEY FASCIST! CATCH! on one of his bullet casings. So given that, should FASCIST and FASCISM be banned words on USMB? Remember that "******" is already a banned word. What do you think?

No. What do you think?

There are quite a few ''isms'' which are arbitrarily thrown around.

Here's a good three minute explanation of Fascism, though...

Dr. Phosphorus has made Nazi a new "N" word as well. LOL, I once had a post removed because I used the word "groomer" Seems to me that fascist and Nazi have as bad of a connotation or worse than those other two.

Only among Fascists.

Just because most people don't understand it doesn't mean it isn't a valid word. Same goes for communism and socialism. Socialists love to throw this turd against the wall when they're cornered. They derail critical discussion with equivocation on terms. Fascists do this as well.

Yes, I agree.

I was just offering up a correct assessment of the term.

I often find that the most conniving, most malintent, intellectually dishonest among us tend to arbitrarily and habitually throw around the term anti-semitism. And interestingly, they're most often the same folks who are so well known for routinely appealing to authority for censorship of any words or opposing views which they do not want to read, or, more often, words and opposing views which they do not want others to read.

In this particular kind of environment I think that the repugnant practice is made routine as a matter of intellectually dishonest, special interest activism, however. So there's actual intent driving that brand of arbitrary use of terms. Or purposeful malinitent, to be clear. Real sleazy shit.

But yeah. Lots of ''isms'' get tossed around very arbitrarily.

Conservatism...liberalism...patriotism..these terms have all been effectively bastardized as they have been arbitrarily adopted over time in the modern era.

I have a neighbor who just put out a yard sign, "End Fascism."

That tells me everything I need to know about them. It tells me they're unstable and potentially dangerous

That's quite a conclusion to draw from a yard sign. But there's no point in thinking about that.

If you REALLY BELIEVE people like Charlie Kirk is a FASCIST (HITLER), what is the logical conclusion?

That's okay, I'll tell you -- assassination!

These people are dangerous. That's leftists. Eventually, ALL LEFTISTS

Sounds like you and your link are conflating fascism and communism. LOL, BTW, when did Mussolini become an authority on the definition or fascism or Orwell or your linked spokesperson for that matter? Seems to me that they all should consult a dictionary.

No, it's just you.

Made country simple, fascism is the merge of corporation and state.

And that was made very clear if one listens all the way through.

Though other aspects were referenced for relevance.

With some discussions one should be of the capacity to walk and chew bubble gum at the same time...

I don't know. I don't believe that. Why do you think the people with the yard sign do?

We should probably round them and put them in camps or something. For their own safety, of course.
