CQ: Hastings to Drop Bid for Intel Chair
By Justin Rood - November 28, 2006, 1:58 PM

Congressional Quarterly's Tim Starks has the scoop:

House Speaker-elect Nancy Pelosi was to meet with Rep. Alcee L. Hastings late Tuesday to close the door on his bid to become chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, a congressional aide said.

But Pelosi, D-Calif., has not yet decided who will get the job, according to the aide. . . .

Pelosi met with Harman two weeks ago to discuss the House Intelligence Committee chair job. There is little to suggest Pelosi will reverse her intention to replace Harman atop the panel.

Unbelievable that that wench would even consider such a corrupt and disgraced asswipe for such a sensitive position.

How could he even get a Security Clearance?

I'm just amazed at some of the low lifes that Democrats will elect...
No ethics or morals needed.....:cuckoo:

This does go to show you something though. Pelosi isnt willing to follow through with anything if there is strong opposition. So we have a way to influence politics. Make so much noise that she will be too scared to act.

And he's pissed.:rotflmao:

I'm looking for a link to his press release

Wait for the race card to be played

Jesse Jackson and Rev Al will be defending this creep

Pelosi is not well liked now by the Congressional Back Caucus

The next two years should be somewhat entertaining

Doesn't appear that Pelosi knows how to lead her party. Thank God there's people in her party who are not afraid to oppose what she wants. Looks like we are in for a bumpy two years unless the Blue Dog Dems and Republicans join forces and save us all a lot of grief.

In order to WIN the House, Dems had to run people who could have run as Republicans

Screecher Belosi will lose alot more battles and the comedy the libs will give us is only beginning

Nancy Pelosi, the New Democratic Screecher of the House of Representatives, seems to be ass deep in some

It appears as though House Speaker to be Nancy Pelosi has her own land dealings aided by government and family connections so thick you could cut them with a knife. In fact, you may have to to unravel all the relationships.

Nancy’s husband Paul has made a fortune in Real Estate and he is or was also a Commissioner on San Francisco’s Commission on the Environment. That’s not a bad place to be if one is speculating in Real Estate, but it also isn’t the only Pelosi in the mix, as you can see below.

Pelosi, who is married to investor Paul Pelosi, has amassed a large portfolio of jointly owned real estate, including three properties in the Napa Valley. They sold an 8-acre vineyard on Skellenger Lane in Rutherford last year for $1 million to $5 million, according to her disclosure form.

Paul Pelosi’s holdings include a four-story commercial building on Belden Place in San Francisco, a retail and office building on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard in San Anselmo and an ownership stake in the Auberge du Soleil resort in Napa Valley valued at $1 million to $5 million. He also has millions of dollars of shares in publicly traded companies such as Microsoft, Amazon. com and AT&T.

The couple estimated their total assets to be worth $25 million to $102 million last year, with liabilities of $6 million to $31 million. Assets are reported in broad ranges on the disclosure forms, making it difficult to determine a lawmaker’s exact net worth.

Nancy’s son Paul, Jr. appears to be President of the Commission on the Environment and also a cousin to Gavin Newsome. Isn’t that how people get appointed to these commissions? Hmm?

And it appears that very lucrative contracts for development are being awarded to individuals with significant links to both Pelosi and Newsome. It also appears that Nancy was involved in transferring The Presidio from the Army to the city, where it would eventually come under control of the commission with lucrative contracts going to firms staffed by Pelosi confidants, as well as family.

Now the development seems to be moving on to a project called Treasure Island.

Birds of a feather seem to flock together in the case of Pelosi and Murtha!

House Speaker-designate Nancy Pelosi’s endorsement of Rep. John P. Murtha’s bid for House majority leader set off a furor yesterday on Capitol Hill, with critics charging that she is undercutting her pledge to clean up corruption by backing a veteran lawmaker who they say has repeatedly skirted ethical boundaries.

Pelosi (D-Calif.) directly intervened in the heated contest between Murtha (D-Pa.) and House Minority Whip Steny H. Hoyer (D-Md.) on Sunday by circulating a letter to Democratic lawmakers. The letter voiced her support for Murtha and put her prestige on the line in a closely fought leadership battle. Some Democratic lawmakers and watchdog groups say they are baffled that Pelosi would go out of her way to back Murtha’s candidacy after pledging to make the new 110th Congress the most ethical and corruption-free in history.

Murtha, a longtime senior Democrat on the House Appropriations Committee, has battled accusations over the years that he has traded federal spending for campaign contributions, that he has abused his post as ranking party member on the Appropriations defense subcommittee, and that he has stood in the way of ethics investigations. Those charges come on top of Murtha’s involvement 26 years ago in the FBI’s Abscam bribery sting.

Kind of amazing that they discovered all this since last Tuesday isn’t it? I mean, if they had this stuff before the election they would have printed it, right? Right?

But then again, lets examine this scenario: Maybe this is why Pelosi came out in support of Murtha. She knew she couldn’t lose, because she would appease the far left fringe with her support of Murtha, all the while knowing that he would never be elected because of all this baggage.

Either way you add it up, the Dems are going to come out of this next 2 yrs covered in their own Bull!
