The electric bill has gone way up. Nothing like what it is supposed to be. In February the state raised rates so high, our bill was almost $1,000 for one month. The people screamed so loud and so long that the new rate structure was scrapped..

Eh, inflation is a way of life in a capitalist society.
My main beef is how the construction prices have gone up.

Ours is down by 20% from 2020.
Not really. I have muni utilities. They raised the base rate a couple bucks but that isn't a big thing. The only real energy price spike I saw was in our natural gas last fall for a few months. Think our water, gas, electric, sewage, and garbage combo bill was around $260 for the most recent one. Our bill has been shockingly consistent though in that range give or take $15 for several months. That is unusual. I think the city does have some longer term contracts related to a portion of the electric.

I hear all this crap talk about how they're the cheapest, but I don't believe it.
Once you go a hair over 1K kw/hrs they put the screws to ya and I think everything gets a triple rate or something.
I'm exaggerating a bit, but damn, it borders illegal what they're doing.
Almost everyone goes over 1K Kw/h; That's an unrealistic standard for them to be able to set like that.
They pulled that thousand outta their asses?
Naw, it just sounded good and they knew a large percentage of people will go over that all the time.

I'll have to ask the Wife if ours has gone up since She's the Banker.
In mid summer our electric bill easily hits 2k a month and more.
I hope to God it hasn't gone up more than it already is.
