HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo will take a temporary leave of absence beginning next week, her office announced Wednesday.

During the leave, Hidalgo will take a week off to go to Colombia to care for her grandfather whose health has reportedly “declined precipitously.”

Her office said she will miss the first court.

And every court after. Especially her own arraignment. At least they have good coffee. But the women there are much hotter than Lina.

The Little Dictator of Harris County has quite an interesting history. Her mom brought her here from Columbia by way of Peru and Mexico when Lina was 15. Lina learned English quickly in our then great public schools in Katy, then went to law school and lucked her way into the job of Harris County Judge (an executive position) right before COVID hit.

She reveled in the powers she granted herself during the scamdemic. Now, she's on the run from Texas Rangers, in the wake of multiple corruption investigations.

Rangers serve warrants at Harris County building as contract investigation intensifies

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Law enforcement sources tell 13 Investigates that Texas Rangers are in the process of serving search warrants at locations across Harris County.

Starting early Friday morning, Texas Rangers fanned out across Houston, seizing electronics from the executive offices at Harris County Administration offices in an investigation into a COVID-19 contract awarded to a firm with alleged ties to members of the county administration. Other locations have been and are being visited by Rangers as well.
Friday's warrant is the latest and most public sign of an intensifying investigation into how a multimillion dollar COVID-19 contract was awarded to a company called Elevate Strategies.

Elevate Strategies, run by Felicity Pereyra, won the contract in June 2021, beating out much larger health care companies, which had also bid. A call to Pereyra Friday morning has not been returned.

Amidst controversy over the hiring, Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo canceled the deal months later. But, county documents obtained by 13 Investigates show the county still paid nearly $1.4 million on the contract as it wound down.

Harris County Commissioner Jack Cagle, who voted against the contract, said he's glad it is being investigated and that when it first came before commissioner's court, it "smelled wrong."

Run, Lina, Run!

Luckily, a replacement is ready now.

GOP Harris County judge candidate contesting her loss after Election Day problems at polling sites

Among the challengers are Republican Alexandra del Moral Mealer, who ran to be the chief executive of Texas’ most populous county against Democratic incumbent Lina Hidalgo in the Nov. 8 election. She lost by 2 percentage points, or over 18,000 votes out of roughly 1.1 million cast. Mealer conceded the following day.

She announced late Thursday she would file an election contest, citing the county’s recent report on Election Day issues. Mealer is asking the court to declare her the winner of the race or void the November election and hold a new one, according to court documents.

Doesn't really matter, Harris Co. will just elect a leftist black woman to replace her.

You know, like this crop of leftist idiots that rode-in on Beto's coattails:

Harris Co. "wins" again.

It is crazy. Democrats are literally voting in droves because they think that Robert O'Rourke is Latino because his supposed Latino childhood friends supposedly nicknamed him Beto.

No wonder the country is in the shape it is in when such morons have the full franchinse.
