This is not what Canada should be about. One must hire the best candidate for the job regardless of race, color or creed.

Diluting and discouraging your own pool of candidates is a sure loss for the nation. Thankfully you have some Americans who defend your Bill of Rights which ensures that China cannot win via weakened competition in critical positions.

Imagine looking for an Assistant Prof in Computational Biology and Data Science, a role that a foreign spy would love to build their foundation from and denying half of the population from applying. This is a recipe for a low performing, dismissal of innovation that competitive economy will require.
