As someone who works in procurement, I can tell you, that biz is not coming back.

We are currently bracing for tariffs to increase our costs, but what we aren't doing right now is looking to resource anything because that's an expensive, drawn out process.

If our businesses aren't competitive, then Tariffs give them no incentive to be more efficient.

Services industry can be taken over by robots. Easily. You think a help desk can't be run by an AI assistant? Not completely so but there's a lot of AI investment in service.

Meanwhile, let me know when you think AI is going to take over plumbing, roofing, electrician wiring, carpentry, utility pole work, welding, etc...I could go on. There are shortages in these fields. You don't need to take out a six-figure loan to get trained either.

True. But we don't want experienced workers doing these jobs once they hit 55. Their bodies will revolt and it's not good to have people work longer.
