Happy Hundredth Birthday Jimmy Carter

yes he did, that has been acknowledged previously. The problem is that that agreement did not stop the violence and religious hate in the mideast. Muslims and Jews have been fighting the same war for 2000 years. Carter did not end it. The Crusades ended it for a while, but as long as one muslim imam survives the war will continue.

Carter can negotiate between countries.
He can’t negotiate what is in people’s hearts.

True, but the fact remains that he did not negotiate peace in the mideast as you claimed.

an agreement between Israel and Egypt did not resolve the mid east problem. It stopped violence between those two countries, true. But most of the credit goes to Sadat and Begin, Carter just stood between them and grinned. I know you are trying to make Carter look great, but the truth is that he did more good after being president than while president. Yes, he is a good person, No, he was not a great president.

Have you always struggled with English comprehension?

I stated Carter negotiated peace between Israel and Egypt.
I never claimed he negotiated peace in the Middle East

Its 44 years since he left the Presidency. Subtract 44 from 1980 his last year as President and it is 1936. 5 years before we went to war. A lot of history since the years he left D.C.

my point, which you are unable to comprehend, is that a treaty between Egypt and Israel is meaningless in terms of the overall mideast war. you also forget that Sadat was killed for signing that agreement.

It was significant in that the two nations engaged in shooting wars twice in the previous ten years and have been peaceful since

yes it is, no disagreement on that. But the killing in the mid east continues today in spite of Carter's agreement. Egypt and Israel were on a path to peace before Carter stepped in and took the credit for it. The proper credit goes to Sadat and Begin, not Carter.

They both credited Carter
