Which is what Christianity teaches.
lol. Christianity also teaches that the verse "By his stripes we are healed" means that Jesus being flogged half to death, suffering, is what heals. WTF. I am telling you what that verse means is not about the Messiah being flogged. It means that by HIS EXCORIATION, Jesus flogging the damned with the WORDS from God that came out of his mouth, is what heals.

Some people listened and some people didn't. One was taken, the other left behind.

Same as it ever was.

Jesus summarized all laws as loving God wholeheartedly and loving one's neighbor as oneself.
Yes because anyone who loves God wholeheartedly would never set aside His instruction to worship a Roman trinity much less mislead others to do the same which amounts to murder in the same exact way Jesus meant by saying, "Satan was a murderer from the beginning."

“ Do not suppose that I have come to abolish the Law and the Prophets; I did not come to abolish, but fulfill. I tell you this: so long as heaven and earth endure, not a letter, not a stroke, will disappear from the Law until all that must happen has happened. If any man therefore set aside even the least of the Laws demands, and teaches others to do the same, he will have THE LOWEST PLACE in the kingdom of heaven.”

To understand what Jesus meant by saying "THE LOWEST PLACE” see Genesis 3:14

In Matthew 5:17, Jesus meant he came to complete, embody, and bring to fruition the ultimate purpose of the Old Testament (Law and Prophets), rather than invalidate or destroy it. He fulfilled the law by living a perfectly obedient life, fulfilling its prophecies, establishing its true meaning, and becoming the final sacrifice for sin.

Key Aspects of "Fulfilling" the Law:
  • Perfect Obedience: Jesus perfectly kept the requirements of the Mosaic Law, which no human could do.
  • Prophetic Completion: He fulfilled the predictions made by the prophets concerning the Messiah.
  • Bringing True Meaning: Jesus interpreted the Law’s original intent, focusing on heart righteousness rather than just outward, legalistic compliance.
  • The Goal of the Law: He was the intended "goal" of the Law, transitioning from the Old Covenant to a new era of grace.
What "Abolish" Meant:
Jesus was clarifying that he was not throwing out or ignoring the Old Testament Scriptures. While the Law remains, its function changes from a legal covenant that convicts of sin to a testimony pointing to Jesus’ finished work.

No. Because rules are not needed for people who love God with all their heart. Clearly you need rules.

You pervert scripture to lead others away from Christ. Just as Satan does. Satan is your god.

He is referring to Gods punishment of the serpent. (He doesnt punish Adam and Eve because it was always Gods intent thast they eat the fruit. It was believed that the serpent walked upright and now had to crawl on its belly, lower. The serpent is the instigator and tempter so hobelim is correct in making the comparison. The serpent is not Satan

Thats the suffering for its own sake is a good thing. In psychology we call that masochism. Often meaning in life can come from suffering as solution. But we dont run around whipping ourselves thats just dumb

My comment was directed at Matthew 5:17 not Genesis 3:14.

So now you are arguing that Jesus didn't summarize all laws as loving God with all one's heart and loving one's neighbor the same as one love themself?

Pick a lane.

"By his stripes we are healed" (Isaiah 53:5, 1 Peter 2:24) means that the physical punishment, wounds, and death Jesus suffered on the cross acted as a substitute for humanity's punishment for sin. The "stripes" (lashes) he received paid the penalty for humanity's transgressions, providing spiritual healing (forgiveness), peace, and reconciliation with God.

Core Meaning and Usage
  • Spiritual Healing: Primarily refers to the forgiveness of sins and reconciliation with God, curing the "sickness" of sin.
  • Physical and Emotional Healing:Many interpret this to mean that, through Christ's suffering, healing is provided for all aspects of human suffering, including physical sickness and emotional brokenness
    .
    • Substitutionary Atonement: It highlights that Jesus endured torment in our place, offering healing instead of the punishment we deserved.
    • Context: The phrase is often used to emphasize the high cost of salvation and to provide assurance of comfort and restoration.
Synonyms and Related Phrases
  • "By his wounds we are healed" (modern translations like NIV/ESV).
  • "Pierced for our transgressions" (Isaiah 53:5).
  • "Bruised for our iniquities" (Isaiah 53:5).
  • "He bore our sins in his body" (1 Peter 2:24).
  • "The punishment that brought us peace was on him" (Isaiah 53:5).
Background
The phrase refers to the severe Roman scourging (39 lashes) Jesus endured. The prophecy in Isaiah 53, written centuries before, foreshadowed this, which was later highlighted by Peter to describe the redemptive work of Christ.

I believe thats symbolic not literal

Just as in Hebrew in English words can have several meanings and subtle allusions to what is actually being described. How a person interprets those words reveals much about them. Ding takes the word stripes to mean exclusively that the messiah would be whipped and suffer which according to Christianity somehow heals believers which is absolutely absurd.

To the more intelligent reader it means that by HIS EXCORIATION, Jesus flogging the damned with the WORDS from God that came out of his mouth, is what heals because in English like in Hebrew "his stripes" can mean him being flogged or him doing the flogging excoriating so that healing is possible. Obviously ding thinks that God is a sadist like him.

See Isaiah 53.

Jesus significantly altered the prevailing first-century Jewish understanding of the Messiah. Instead of a political or military liberator overturning Roman rule, Jesus re-envisioned the Messiah as a suffering servant who brought spiritual salvation through his death and resurrection, rather than through earthly power.

Key aspects of this redefined understanding include:
  • The Suffering Servant: Contrary to expectations of a warrior king, Jesus highlighted prophecies (such as Isaiah 53) that the Messiah would be "pierced" and "tortured to death" to pay for sins.
  • Spiritual Kingdom: Jesus stated, "My kingdom is not of this world," focusing on an internal, spiritual kingdom that grows slowly rather than an immediate political revolution.
  • Reinterpreting Victory: Instead of immediate conquest, the victory was achieved through sacrifice and resurrection, which initially confused his followers until they reinterpreted the scriptures after his death.
  • Focus on Deity: Jesus revealed the Messiah not just as a human descendant of David, but as the Son of God, a divine figure.
While the traditional Jewish expectation was a king who would bring immediate world peace, rebuild the Temple, and gather the Jews, Jesus taught a two-stage Messiah role—first to serve/die, and to return later for full reign.

Where in hell did you gat that pathetic attempt to deflect. Thats not what I said. If you don't believe me, let me post its again for you.

“ Do not suppose that I have come to abolish the Law and the Prophets; I did not come to abolish, but fulfill.
