For my family, this isn't "history". My grandfather fought in the Kaiser's Army. In the aftermath of the war, his family lost everything, which is why he came to America in 1925.

Um, no, guy. The Germans honored their treaty commitments. Read any of the Gospels, and they were VERY CLEAR. Pontius Pilate wanted to let Jesus go. It was the angry mob who insisted on his murder.

Now- being an atheist, I suspect these are all fairy stories. If anything, I suspect the later writers were trying to curry favor with the Romans by painting the Romans as the not-so-bad guys and the Jewish High Priest as the villain.
