As others have said, the primary reason that the Israelis and some traitorous American politicians wanted the US to join the Israelis in fighting Egypt.
That's why the initial attacks were carried out by unmarked, Mirage fighter planes similar to the planes the Egyptians had.
If the attack was accidental, why use unmarked planes?

Finally, this is not the first False Flag attack on Americans that the Israelis have tried to pull off.
