Haiku Moments

Funny... there is a guy that does that on another forum I post on too.

😎
Yeah, I've seen a few figures where it's getting more popular. It really grew outside Japan after WWII. The mechanical part is easy (5-7-5), but there is really an art to making it work poetically. I don't quite get it. It's one of those graceful things where you might have it or you don't.

Making potholders
And matching washrags for church
Cotton is the best

Store-boughten washrags
Now made of synthetic thread
have no absorption

To make matters worse
Boiling can melt synthetics
Cotton takes high heat.

So I don't mind it
Each rag takes fifteen hours
Potholders, thirty.

It's worth all the time
Where sanitation has need
For healthy living.

We give God our best
So others' lives are improved
Clean as a whistle.

Black and white Checkered;
The silent jihad has come!
Kaffiyeh....Kaboom!
The one I have was bought online from someone who had no idea they were selling a virtual treasure with skillfully planned geometric design, plus the maker embroidered her own flower garden on the quilt tops planned blank 90 degree diamond squares, not to mention the alternate 1" squares so artfully placed I can't even describe its excellence. I paid well under $70 for a quilt I would appraise in the range of $20,000. I own a quilt store since 1987. But. This summer I am restarting crochet work. It is so hot here quilting a quilt for warmth is not in any plan.!!! I'm under the magic cool fan right now. Have a great evening. This has to be the hottest week this summer.
