It might be prudent to not use gendered language when referring to Mr. Crooks until we learn what pronouns he used. Anyway, I am sure he was just a hard working guy trying to provide for his family.

Thomas Matthew Crooks ID’d as gunman who shot Trump during Pa. rally

“The gunman who attempted to assassinate former President Donald Trump Saturday was identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, sources told The Post.
Crooks, of Bethel Park, Pa., squeezed off shots — one of which grazed Trump in the ear — at an outdoor rally in Butler, just outside Pittsburgh.
Sources said Crooks was planted on a roof of a manufacturing plant more than 130 yards away from the stage at Butler Farm Show grounds.”

And why would a 20 year old kid do this?

Because he wanted to be famous and go out with a bang?
Because he hated Trump that much?

If it's the second it's a product of the US's absolutely dumb political system that has produced this whole situation where people don't have real choice, and people saying stupid shit can become really popular.

I was in the military and just about to get married when I was 20.
