I got a call yesterday and the shop said "coin shop guy" came in and dropped off a bunch of guns.....Most were either junkers or something I already had but I did snag three.

DSCN4899.webp

Top:

1920s era Stevens single shot .410.....$100.00.

Middle:

Late 30s era Savage Model 19 NRA Target ,22LR.....$250.00

Bottom:

1917 Remington M1891 Mosin in 7.62 X 54R.....I think this one went to a National Guard unit at some point (due to the unit numbers on the stock) and was made into a presentation rifle with the addition of checkering. Pretty handsome for a Mosin.....$200.00

I have fond memories of Stevens single shot shotguns. My first shotgun bought with paper route money when I was twelve years old was a twenty gauge Stevens single shot. I hunted everything with it and was as proud of it as though it was an engraved gold inlaid Parker OU.

.410 single barrel, best grouse gun I ever shot. Quicker to point in heavy brush than my 12 gauge. I rarely missed using this gun.
