Greenlanders should hold a plebiscite. They should be able to select whether they want to be a part of the US or not.

The vast majority of Greenlanders do not want to be part of the USA. And they did not ask for it.

It's a fool's errand for anyone who believes in the happily ever after Greenland story insofar as them remaining an isolated and autonomous community indefinitely into the future. While they certainly have a right to choose at this point there will be a point in the not too distant future where they will lose that right permanently without any input from the people who live there. Global political aggressions are shaping up to be colonial once again.... It will be the big fish who end up owning the pond. Little minnows like Greenland can share happy dreams for as long as they last.... Not having enough foresight to become part of a larger Nation will be something they will have to reckon with.

They can remain part of Denmark, which means they're in NATO, and if someone attacks them, we have a casus foederis under Article 5. Nothing should happen to the Greenlanders if USA remains part of NATO.

People don't understand that it is not a choice of "two bad options", it is a choice between two systems. Everyone has a big brother. There are efforts by Europeans and others because they genuinely don't like seeing America expand. These are weak people for whose opinions I don't subscribe to.

If a government doesnt uphold their end of the bargain, the population will decide that they have lost the right to govern. Its similar to the EU blaming Americam for their horrible leadership and military,, blame themselves.

Yes, they will choose whether they want independence from Denmark. And that is their right. Denmark and Europe will accept that. But they certainly aren't choosing between old or new occupiers.
