It's really interesting that about 8 in 10 Americans believe the climate is changing, causing extreme weather.
Gee, now why do you suppose they believe that?
With climate change we don't know if spending 1 trillion or 7 trillion will fix the problem.
We don't know if 100 trillion will fix the problem. The US spends more to clean up our messes than the rest of the world. Do you think the people in China or India are doing anything about it?
Green is a bottomless pit. All the money in the US can't fill it. But as we try, we keep taking more and more money out of circulation and that causes economic grief.
About all we know for sure is it will eventually radical change our climate and make a lot of the earth uninhabitable.
Would you like a couple of links of people saying the exact same thing years ago; predicting that New York would be under water, or that entire countries would disappear?
IMHO, I believe most Americans will certainly endorse doing something but what something turns out to be is anybody's guess.
Of course they will endorse it. Green costs are intrinsic. We pay them without even knowing about it.
Question: Would you like to see us do things for cleaner air and cleaner water?
Most Americans: Uh.......yeah, sure I would!
Honest question: Would you be willing to pay $1,500 a year for cleaner air and cleaner water?
Most Americans: The air and water is fine. I need my money.
If paying $1,500 a year for cleaner air and cleaner water includes serious reduction in greenhouse gases, absolutely.
Okay, and what about the year after that, and the year after that, and the year after that?
The point is no matter how much we spend, you will never see one environmentalist be happy. You will never see any noticeable changes in the earth. It's not a science, it's a theory that's unproven.
Compare that to our discussions of the wall. We have empirical evidence that walls and borders work. In spite of that evidence, you on the left still claim they don't. Now we have so-called climate change. It's absolutely correct because the climate always changes; been that way since God made the place, and without any proof whatsoever, you very same people are saying we are causing it.
I thought of an idea I got from Moooochele Obama. She conned her husband into making regulation that all food products served in restaurants have to include a calorie count. While that never made one fat kid skinny, I thought we should do the same only with Green costs. That's right, every product we buy should have a green cost on it.
If you buy a car for $25,000, it should have a sticker saying $8,000 of that car went to making it greener. Or a $800 snowblower. It should have a tag on it that $100.00 went to making that machine greener. A sticker on the gasoline pumps saying that out of the $2.25 you pay for each gallon of gasoline, 75 cents per gallon went to make it greener.
If people really knew what they actually pay for green, it wouldn't have the support it does, because every single product you buy today has an intrinsic green cost to it. Since it's hidden, people don't know about it. Trust me, I've been a truck driver for a long time. I see the tens of thousands of dollars my boss of our small company pays for green between the trucks, the fuel, the DEF fluid every single year. He has to pass that loss to our customers who make the products you and I buy in the store every time we go shopping.
