I feel so much better. Trump said "We are now totally independent of the middle east." "America has plenty of gas, we have so much gas!" So we don't have to worry about oil moving through the Strait of Hormuz. And, the increase in prices is Iran's fault for targeting oil tankers with their missiles.

Well, I am sure that all the MAGA bubbas out there, with their big gas guzzling pick-ups, now have a warm fuzzy filling as they fill up with, hoping that their credit card has enough credit limit left for another tank full at $4.00 per gallon and approaching $5.00!

NATO is much more dependent on the ME than we are.

We're also a big oil producer....so the higher prices aren't hurting us as much as China.

What's difficult is solving problems.....and Trump solves problems....and that is what pisses you guys off so much.

We're also a big oil producer....so the higher prices aren't hurting us as much as China.

Why is that a good thing?

Not all of that product goes through the straight however.

Crude oil is a global commodity and US producers sell at world prices. Unless we want to nationalize our oil resources......

We used to ban the export of oil from the US. I suppose we could return to that policy. It was only lifted in 2015.

When that ban was implemented, US production levels dropped and import levels rose. We still don't produce as much oil as we consume.
