Grassley disgraces himself.

I find it refreshing when one of you folks admits to supporting authoritarian governance. Honesty among The Following in terms of what you want for America being so rare.
You guys loved it when you did it to us the past decade. Lets see how YOU like it. Apparently not that much... good.

Chuck cut off debate in the Judiciary Comm. in order to ram Bove's nomination thru the committee despite..........

900 DOJ attorneys urge Senate to reject Bove nomination

More than 900 former Justice Department attorneys are urging the Senate Judiciary Committee to reject the nomination of Emil Bove for a lifetime judicial appointment.

Bove, who previously served on President Trump’s criminal defense team, is now in the No. 3 role at the Department of Justice (DOJ) and has been nominated for a judgeship on the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.

The extraordinary outpouring came from attorneys from the Kennedy administration to the current Trump administration who pinpointed Bove as a key figure behind numerous firings and policy shifts, calling him a “leader in this assault” on the Justice Department.

Despite Bove telling DoJ lawyers to ignore court orders.

Whistleblower Documents Implicate Emil Bove in Criminal Contempt Order by Chief Judge Boasberg

A whistleblower’s documents provided to Congress implicate Emil Bove in the administration’s violation of a court order that prohibited the transfer of more than 100 Venezuelans to El Salvador’s CECOT prison. Bove is President Donald Trump’s nominee to serve as a judge on the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Senate Judiciary Committee is scheduled to vote on his nomination on July 17.

In April, Chief Judge James Boasberg held there is probable cause that administration officials engaged in criminal contempt by having “willfully disobeyed a binding judicial decree.” Bove is identified in the whistleblower’s documents as having played a central role in the conduct of concern. The documents also provide evidence that Bove has seriously misled Congress about his conduct.

The whistleblower is Erez Reuveni, who was a career Department of Justice (DOJ) attorney for nearly 15 years until he was dismissed in April of this year. The documents he has produced to the Senate Judiciary Committee, including emails and text messages, concern the Trump administration’s controversial decision to transfer Venezuelan nationals to El Salvador on Mar. 15 under the purported authority of the Alien Enemies Act (AEA). The cache of documents, which was first reported by Politico, is important for the following four reasons.

trump is trying to put judges on the bench who will turn a blind eye to cases in which the government responds to court orders by ignoring them.

Whatever claim Grassley had to be respected for doing what is simply the right, ethical thing to do is no longer.
I don't get the embarrassment part.

It seems that desperate hypocrite democrats have gotten to the point where ordinary political infighting is considered disgraceful after they supported Hillary and Hussein's fake "Russian collusion" narrative and weaponized the FBI and CIA. No surprise here.

The GOP is engaged in out of bounds political infighting. When you come to Congress in 2027 with blue majorities, they will not listen to you. They will do what they will.

3 Key Takeaways From the Bondi Hearing

A day before the hearing, the committee’s Republican chairman, Senator Charles E. Grassley of Iowa, released a page of an F.B.I. document showing that agents had analyzed the toll records of the lawmakers, meaning a list of who they called, how long the calls lasted, and when and roughly where the calls were made. The phone records were analyzed in September 2023, examining a four-day time period around Jan. 6.

Republicans denounced the investigative activity as “spying,” and Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri, one of those whose records were taken, declared that the F.B.I. had tapped his phone. Mr. Grassley’s public announcement of the issue, however, makes clear that the toll records involved do not include the content of phone calls that result from a wiretap.

The records were sought in 2023 as prosecutors were trying to identify relevant communications between the president and his inner circle with members of Congress on the key days surrounding the violence, according to a person familiar with the investigation who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe the decision-making process.

Smith followed legal protocols to obtain phone records as part of his investigation of Dotard's plot to steal the 2020 election. Grassley's release of the document was obviously meant to be a distraction from the blonde sock puppet's upcoming testimony. He's become an embarrassment to himself and the country.

None whatsoever

The biggest take away is the dems are desperate and sadly attempting to distract from the fact the last demafasict regime was a threat to our democracy and openly engaged in espionage on the US Senate.

Krugman: Death Panels and Middle-Class Tax Hikes Ahead

We almost never agree with President Obama's favorite economist Paul Krugman, but he recently spoke the truth about where Obama's policies are taking the country. It should scare anyone with a pulse.

Krugman, after speaking at the Sixth & I Historic Synagogue in Washington, D.C., was asked about the debt crisis. After arguing it's no big deal in the near term, Krugman admitted that "Eventually we do have a problem. The population is getting older, health care costs are rising ... . Something is going to have to give."

In case anyone failed to get what he was talking about, Krugman made it clear, saying the snarky version is:

"Death panels and sales taxes is how we do this."

This wasn't the first time Krugman has used this line — a couple years ago he said pretty much the same thing on NBC's "This Week." And to his credit, Krugman is at least being honest about the miserable end to which liberalism leads. If the government continues on its current course, the nation's debt will climb inexorably higher.

But Krugman's bleak future is hardly set in stone.

Remember, Krugman says that it's the inevitable future that results from creating "the kind of society we want," meaning the kind of society Krugman and his fellow liberal elitists want.

Why? Do you have evidence Garland directed DoJ officials to ignore courts orders, fired DoJ and FBI officials for investigating someone in the Biden admin, or was involved in corruptly dropping charges against a city official causing 4 members of the DoJ to resign in protest? If you don't, STFU.
Yes

Couldn't resist posting this, from The Onion. The caption reads, "Nature Reclaiming Sen. Grassley."
