All one has to do is Google.
"We need legislation which reorganizes the system to guarantee a sufficient volume of high quality medical care, distributed equitably across the country and available at reasonable cost to every American. It is going to take a drastic overhaul of our entire way of doing business in the health-care field in order to solve the financing and organizational aspects of our health crisis. One aspect of that solution is the creation of comprehensive systems of health-care delivery"
That was Ted Kennedy in 1971 supporting the HMO Act and now one of the most cursed aspects of the system BY liberals is HMO's.
The Medicare and Medicaid programs were signed into law on July 30, 1965
That year, health care was 6.1% of GNP, by 1981, after Medicare, HMO's and The ERISA Act was implemented , these costs had risen to 9.8%.
Health care costs have grown on average 2.4 percentage points faster than the GDP since 1970.
Government regulations kill 4,000 more Americans each year than die from lack of health insurance.
All ya gotta do is Google.
