Blame Congress for creating all the tax breaks and loopholes that allow the rich to legally avoid taxes. The rich write laws that favor the rich. That is what the two party system has created and yet we Americans keep on electing the same people and expect different results.

It's interesting, is it not? Collectively, the Dems despise the rich, some always talking about raising their taxes to super high levels. Some say as high as 70, 80, even 90%. And yet here's Cuomo lamenting the fact that the rich folk are leaving his state. NY Sen. Schumer says it's a top priority to do away with the SALT limit, but Biden says he wants to raise taxes back to 40% or or higher. I guess it's okay to hit the rich guys for more taxes but not our rich guys. The hypocrisy is astounding, we hate you but we want you back so we can tax the shit out of you; as if the rich people don't understand what's going on, whatever you want to say about the rich people, they ain't stupid. And I really don't think they like all the lawlessness going on these days in NYC and elsewhere, so many of them are leaving the blue cities and states for red ones. Some of the rich are Dems and for whatever reason some are staying no matter what, but others ARE leaving that probably otherwise would not.

I think the lesson is clear: you can't pluck the golden goose too much or they fly off. And you end up with less revenue and fewer jobs cuz the rich people are the ones that invest in the new startups or business expansions. And Cuomo knows it.

Reminds me of the story about the 10 men at the dinner table.

1 who is very rich and pays 50% of the tab.
2 who are well off and pay 30% of the tab.
4 who are okay and pay 20% of the tab.
the other 3 are poor and pay nothing.

One day the restaurant owner says that his costs are going up 10% and it will be passed on to the customers.

So there was a very big argument that the very rich person should pick up the cost increase.
He says no way, and walks out the door, taking his money with him.
Now the other 2 who well off, will have to pay 80% if the other 7 are going to eat, so they say no way and take their money with them.
Now the 4 who are okay, now have to pay 100% of the costs though 3 want to eat free, so they take their money and leave.
The 3 poor cant pay, so they cant eat. That is what socialism brings...everyone is poor and everyone is miserable.
