There is no official law that prevents anyone from crossing the border at any point. If theyareserkingaslyum.US law agrees with International law on.that point. During the Cuban refugee crisis the US Coast Guard tried desperately to stop the boats at immigrants from reaching US soil because they knew if they reached it they had rights and would get there day in court to stay. The vast majority were allowed to stay. Nearly 70% of those immigrants became US citizens. And of course all their children and grandchildren born here are US Citizens. The original 1..5 million now number nearly 4 million Cuban-Americans.
